  I used to think the same as you but one of Smalling/Evans needs replacing in my opinion. Solid defenders on their day but far too injury prone. Evans especially. I'd stick with Jones as he is younger but replacing one of Evans/Smalling with Hummels/Godin would be great business if you ask me

  LvG says Rooney and Evans are available for Southampton but di Maria misses out. He also said that Lingard has recovered quicker than expected but didn't mention whether he's available yet. All around good news really bar di Maria. My final prediction for Monday's team:

  Win on Monday and we can go into third 5 points clear of Arsenal, 7 points clear of Liverpool, 2/5 points behind City and 8 off Chelsea. Not bad considering everyone declared us finished in May...

  For me if we could get hummels/godin i would get rid of evans. He's old enough that the mistakes he makes shouldn't be happening. Smalling would learn more and grow better beside a hummels/godin. Could see van gaal playing rvp on monday not falcao.

  Yeah I think if we are to sell any CB's Evans should be first to go. As I say he's fantastic on his day - I rate him higher than both Smalling & Jones's current ability but he's also the oldest and the most injury prone.
  
  It must be said though that Smalling isn't exactly young either, he's what, 25/26? He's been fantastic since the sending off v City though and has a good partnership with Rojo going

  Evans is 26, smalling is 25 and jones is 22. I thought there was a 2 or 3 year gap between evans and smalling.

  Well the vast majority certainly did. Heck, I was laughed at on here for saying we would go straight back into the top 4 this season. No chicken counting yet, just a lot of confidence!

  LvG has said Falcao and Rafael aren't ready to start yet which sucks donkey balls. Will be interesting to see what he does with the front 3. I wonder if we'll see RvP behind Rooney and Wilson
