  Hope he stays of course but that is mental money, can't see how we could turn it down. Think he'd probably be easier to replace at this point than the likes of Lallana and Schneiderlin too, so if selling him means we can keep hold of them then it's all good.
  
  Bit of a risk on your part though. Whatever United's budget for the summer, £27m is still going to be a decent chunk of it and I'm not sure that (defensively at least) he's quite good enough for a title challenge yet. Obviously you're paying for potential but right now you need players that can make an instant impact.
  
  That's not to say he wouldn't be an upgrade on Buttner, maybe Evra too, but £10m or so on Coentrao might be a better bet for now.

  The way I see it it's the same as when we bought Rooney & Rio. It's either pay a huge sum for a huge talent and reap the rewards in a few years or buy older players for less money that will decline and need replacing again in 3 or 4 years anyway. Plus, there's a big difference with Shaw in that he's a huge amount of PL experience already. and it's a position we desperately need recruiting in.
  
  It's a risk very much worth taking for me.
  
  Also, it's not going to be a flat £27m, it's most likely £15m - £20m with performance related add ons

  So Rio's leaving which is a shame. Easily my favourite United CB of all time, absolute beast in his prime. So we're now left with Jones, Smalling, Evans & Keane. Don't think we need a new CB but I wouldn't mind if we did get another

  Well, with regards to Rio leaving, he's spent a good number of years playing for Man United. At some stage, he was going to leave. Those 12 years he's been there have definitely been good. He's brought much to the team. It will be a shame to see him go. Ah well.

  i dont think smalling jones etc are good enough so i think we need at least 3 cb a rb a lb 2 wingers and if hernadez and welbeck go we will need 2 or 3 stirkers cant reliy on rvp and wazzer injury prone

  I think we'll be in for a winger aswell as one, two or even all of Young/Valencia/Nani are likely to be off and that will leave us pretty light in that area. A back up right back is a possibility aswell but van Gaal apparantly really likes to go with youth if they're good enough so he may just bump Varela into the first team and leave it at that
