  Ozil aside, it's rare that Real sell for big money. Normally just move players on at a discount to make way for the latest Galactico.
  
  If he was playing somewhere like Juve and they didn't want to let him go then £60m would probably seem about right. Not sure how much game time he'd have got at Real this year but I'm assuming he wouldn't have been a regular.
  
  Similar to the Mata situation really. Fair price, just looks a bit high in context.

  That's the thing though, Madrid didn't want to let him go. They offered him a new deal which he turned down and Perez prefers his new shiny toy in Rodriguez who can sell more shirts. That's why the fee is still so big, they're up for selling him but it's not because he isn't wanted/good enough, it's because di Maria isn't as fashionable as James bloody Rodriguez.
  
  Heck, Ronaldo even came out urging the board to reconsider selling him.

  Well, it was beyond disappointing of course but I didn't expect much going in. Starting with as many youngsters as we did was always a risk and having an unfit Evans and an Anderson in there didn't help things. De Gea had his worst game i've seen him play, should 100% have saved the second & third goals and just didn't seem that commanding in the box. Hernandez was awful as he has been for a long, long time and Januzaj was largely disappointing when he came on too. Welbeck was good, as was Wilson who really, really should have started ahead of Hernandez.
  
  Of course the majority are going to ignore the team we fielded and laugh at us even more but for me i'm really not too bothered. LvG gave the youngsters a chance which is all you can ask for. Don't get me wrong if the first team had just lost 4-0 i'd be livid but it was far from that.

  I have said it for some time now, Fergie left a team that required ripping up and starting a fresh, a new era you might say.
  Moyes came along and tried to install his methods, vision and team...The overpaid players "We didn't use to train like that, we don't normally play to that formation, what have you won anyway Moyes?"
  We now have LVG and nothing has changed! The common denominator?? The players give or take a few new signings.
  
  LVG needs to have wholesale changes to make a go of this petulant squad!

  Getting there though aren't they. Four in already this summer with maybe a couple more to follow, Fellaini (alright) and Mata last season... Could quite easily push £250m altogether, and that ought to be enough to make a difference.

  LvG has to sort out the mess Moyes left him. I honestly believe that had LvG taken over from SAF things would be as rosey as a rose in a box of roses right now. Moyes took title winning players and destroyed everything about them, LvG's mission for the past month has been to try and resurrect the squad's old self. But just as it took Moyes a few months to destroy them, it's going to take LvG a few months to resurrect them.
  
  Some of them definitely need flogging though and LvG knows that, I just hope we can find buyers in time.

  Well yeah, on paper we should have won but it doesn't always work out like that. Inexperience & confidence is huge, especially when your opponents are more match fit than you and treat the game like it's the final... and have more confidence than you!
