Living underwater
The blue depths! One place on Earth we haven't really colonised. It may not be too far off though as there are plans for floating cities that could operate underwater. They say they will be able to house 5000 people.

The concept:

They are going to make use of industrial sized 3D printers with resin and there will be hotels, residential areas and commercial areas.

The design of the globes is such that they will be watertight and they will extend about 1.8m to 2.5m to the ocean floor. Supplies can be returned with small spheres going back to transport cargo.

Apparently they are going to use it to build the massive structures instead of using other materials such as concrete.

RE: Living underwater
looks pretty fucked up to me. imagine not being able to see some earth or a normal tree growing out of the ground.. but hey by the time they build these things shit like trees and earth will be at a premium probably lol...

Bioshock..real..thats sounds awesome. Those spiral structures look like truly epic waterslides. Would be right up for that. Not being a strong swimmer though the prospect of living underwater well, scares that crap outta me lol. Oh look, we appear to have sprung a leak. Sod that.

RE: Living underwater
I'm sold on it.
Obviously there's concerns about being crushes to death when something breaks - but other than that, it's all good.

'Anyway, he's an undead. I don't see how you can save undeads. It's a sort of contradiction in terms.'
'A dichotomy,' said the Bursar helpfully.
'Oh, I don't think surgery is involved.'

RE: Living underwater
thats crazy, they would have to put a lot of work in to doing something like that and even then it might not work out?

but who knows technology is crazy itself so it might even work
