  I am a bit furious with Brendan Rodgers I think his a good manager but for me when u say we cant win the title it feels to me that it might go wrong because it might demoralise the players and that's what u don't want to do.
  
  Liverpool have had a great season but I really feel that Liverpool needed to spend in the January transfer window and the way the whole Konoplyanka deal went through it felt rushed it and I hope that we finish top 4 but if we don't we need to start looking at the backroom staff and maybe people like Ian Ayre need to go.
  
  Just hope that the season goes well if we get top 4 feel the sas has saved us this season then when u have that strike force like that it does help and I just hope that this weekend when we can beat arsenal and just show that Liverpool can beat one of the best teams in Europe.

  He's not wrong though, is he? And it seems every time he has talked up their chances this season they've promptly gone on to lose. Best to keep the expectation levels realistic I reckon, and even finishing 4th would be a great achievement.

  Just to be challenging for the top 4 alone is a huge improvement for Liverpool and it shows the progress that they are making under Rodgers. The fact that they were top at christmas is just a bit of a bonus whilst not really being considered genuine contenders by most people. Rodgers is just taking off the pressure from his players in order to make the final push for 4th and achieve the season target

  Even Mourinho said that Chelsea 'werent in the title race'.....do we believe him when they're top of the table going into the final 1/3rd of the season? Mind game, pressure relieving tactics, call them what you like......these comments are all designed for the same purpose. But is it that wrong for a manager of a team who finished 7th last season and havent played in Champs League for 4-5 years to say that his side arent title contenders? Im a Liverpool fan, and it is frustrating me that so many fellow fans are getting so worked up about us not challenging for the title more......have you all forgotten the past 5 years?! We are in a transition period, improving all the time, but we need at least 4-5 quality signings in various positions before we can even start to match the power houses of City and co. I want the title as much as the next Liverpool fan, but lets be realistic!

  Once you can offer champions league football (and the extra cash from competing in that won't hurt either) you'll be able to kick on in the summer and make the signings you need to challenge.
  
  Maybe keep Ian Ayre away from any deals though eh?

  From Liverpool's point of view I would imagine top 4 would equal a fantastic season for them. Having already spent a few years out of the Champions League top 4 is the priority. Challenging for the title would be a nice bonus but it's not a necessity for this season and I think that's what Rodgers is trying to remind the fans in his comments.

  Hi, i think Liverpool are doing very well compare to lat season as they are winning matches against the big 5 or 6 teams. Suarez and Sturridge are beginning to form probably one of the best striking partnership in the premiership. Seeing Suarez and sturridge both scoring as been a big bonus for Liverpool.
