  I do have a soft spot for Liverpool even though I am a Brighton fan we have had a few players sign either way over the years and have to admire Klopp and the team for the football they play. And even owned a few Liverpool shirts over the years. So hope they win something this year so long as they don't beat us along the way!

  The most important thing was to start this season with 3 points and we did that. It was always going to be a little bit tough performance wise, due to playing away at a newly promoted team like Norwich, especially after seeing what happened to Aston Villa and Arsenal at Watford and Brentford. But we handled it well when we needed to defend, especially given that it was van Dijk and Matip's first starts in several months, and Tsimikas' Premier League debut. Playing with a midfield three of Milner, Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain was tough given that they're not the greatest off the ball and lack the physical presence of Fabinho and Henderson, but they were relatively OK. The starting front three of Salah, Mane and Jota did well too, and then once we brought on Firmino we stepped it up another gear. It was a shame Sadio didn't get on the scoresheet. Burnley will be a tough physical game, but being back in front of a full crowd at Anfield will give us the vocal support we need to hopefully get us 3 points. With a couple weeks left in the transfer window it'd be nice if we could get a backup DM that is physically strong and a backup RW that dribbles with pace, or a backup false 9 that is ruthless inside the box. But either way I'm confident that we can push Man City all the way in the Premier League this season now that we've got a fully fit squad, and hopefully end the season with a trophy.

  That wasn't easy at all, and unsurprisingly Burnley made it as physical as possible. Alisson was brilliant at dealing with their long balls and aerial threat. I especially loved the one moment where he dribbled past their striker. Trent Alexander-Arnold proved again why he's amongst, if not the best right back in the world. Matip and van Dijk are the perfect centreback partnership, they're so game intelligent, physically dominant and rapidly quick. Tsimikas had an incredible game that the crowd inside the stadium really appreciated, and it was good to see him get an assist and the man of the match award in his home premier league debut. It was great to see Henderson back on the pitch as captain, his leadership was perfect for the way Burnley played. Keita played really well and it was good to see him play two games back to back with no injury issues. Harvey Elliott was outstanding. For someone so young to play with such maturity was a joy to behold. They tried kicking him all over the place and he dealt with them brilliantly. It's just a shame that his assist for Salah's goal was disallowed for offside by VAR. Salah was a constant threat throughout the match and he was unlucky not to have scored. Jota cannot stop scoring. He's so ruthlessly clinical in front of goal. I'm glad that Mane scored too. HIs link play with Tsimikas constantly caused Burnley problems. Two wins out of two, and no goals conceded is a perfect start to the season.

  Disappointing end to the transfer window, having only picked up Konate. Ideally I would've liked to have seen us pick up another centre midfielder and an attacker. But maybe the ones we were after weren't available right now, and hopefully we'll get them in January. I hope the rumours of Michael Edwards leaving are not true, as he has been brilliant at identifying our transfer targets over the last few years. But if he is leaving then I think we'll hire a suitable replacement. The Chelsea result was slightly disappointing given that we were at home and the were down to 10 men in the 2nd half. But if we can beat all the bottom 16 teams then we can still win the Premier league. Our Champions League group is probably the group of death, but we tend to put in great performances at Anfield, so we just need to pick up a few points away from home, in order to get through to the last 16.

  Firstly I hope Elliott makes a full and speedy recovery from his injury. He added such a bright and exuberant angle to our midfield, for someone so young and inexperienced at a Premier League level. Now onto the Leeds game. We were brilliant. They had a good chance in the first half that was fired straight at Alisson, but apart from that we limited to very few chances. Matip and Van Dijk have to be amongst the best centreback partnerships in the world at the moment. Especially after coming back from long term injuries, they've looked amazing, and three clean sheets out of four premier league games sort of proves it. Trent Alexander Arnold continues to prove why he's amongst the best right backs in the world at the moment. Robertson looks like he's regaining his match fitness after his slightly rusty performance against Chelsea. Fabinho was imperious, and was my choice for man of the match. Thiago coolly dictated the pace of the game like a conductor controls an orchestra. Elliott was a constant spark of energy up until his injury. Mane did have a lot of chances, but lacked his usual ruthlessness in front of goal. Hopefully his strike will give him a much needed boost of confidence. Jota knitted our attack to our midfield nicely. Salah has now become a Premier League legend after scoring his 100th goal. Despite Harvey's injury, it was a good boost to our confidence before our match in the Champions League versus AC Milan.

  WHAT. A. GAME. We never do anything easy, especially when we play in the Champions League. The first half we played brilliantly apart from two minutes when we conceded two goals right after each other. I was surprised  Salah's penalty was saved, he's usually ruthless from the spot. Origi's assist for Salah's goal was a work of art. And Hendo's goal will be remembered for a long time and was reminiscent of Gerrard. With Atletico and Porto drawing, we've got off to a good a start in this season's "Group of Death". If we can win our other two home games and pick up a point away, then we'll hopefully get through the group and finish top of it too. Man Utd losing to Young Boys was just icing on the cake LOL.

  Beating Palace wasn't as straight forward as the scoreline suggests. Alisson had to pull off a couple important saves. Milner dealt with Zaha relatively well. Konate was brilliant on his debut for someone so young coming into a new league, up against strikers like Benteke and Edouard. VVD continues to prove that he's the best centre back in the world right now. Robertson was solid defensively and a constant threat going forward as usual. Fabinho shielded the back four with aplomb. Henderson and Thiago dictated paly with the ball beautifully. Hopefully the latter will return frim the injury he picked up soon. Mane coolly took his chance to put us in front. Salah was ruthless when he put us two goals up. And Keita is the current frontrunner for goal of the season with his late volley from outside the box. His celebration was just as epic too LOL.

  The victory against Norwich in the league cup will have done wonders for the confidence of our backup players and youngsters from the Academy. Kelleher's penalty save was brilliant and was such a pivotal moment in the match. Bradley did well despite his foul that led to Norwich's penalty. Konate and Gomez looked like the heirs to VVD and Matip's throne as one of the best centre back partnerships in the world. Tsimikas has been a revelation so far this season, his delivery from wide and set pieces have already gained him a few assists so far this season. Keita did well up until his substitution at half time, hopefully he recovers from his injury soon. Oxlade-Chamberlain wasn't great in the first half, but he improved in the second half and got an assist. Curtis Jones was probably our best centre midfielder. For someone so young he plays with the confidence of a player much older. Origi has proven that he could be a valuable back up player for us again this season. Minamino's goals will give him so much confidence and I really hope he can push on from here. Gordon did really well and I can't wait to see him play more games. Morton added so much calmness and control to our midfield when he came on to replace Keita in the second half. Thankfully we got a relatively "easy" draw in the next round versus Preston North End, so hopefully we can get a good result against them.

  That was a bit of a mess. After leading 2-1 and 3-2, it was disappointing to only pick up a point. But credit to Brentford they never gave up and put us under a relentless barrage of pressure. Alisson maybe could've done better with saving their third goal. TAA was overloaded at the back post in the build up to their third. VVD and Matip struggling to deal with Brentford's strikers in the air and winning the second balls. Robertson could've done better and he looks like he's not quite up to full fitness yet after his injury in pre-season. Fabinho looked a little off the pace in terms of picking up loose balls and stopping the supply into their attack. Henderson maybe could done a little bit better in terms of controlling our possession and tempo a little bit better. Jones was really good and I'm glad he got a goal, even though it got a slight deflection. Mane was OK. Jota did brilliant to score his goal, and was unlucky to not grab a couple more. Salah scoring his 100th goal was incredible. It was disappointing to drop points but it was inevitable that we wouldn't win every game this season. Hopefully we can remain at the top of the league after we play Man City in the next round of fixtures. But first we need to beat Porto in the Champions League.

  CURTIS JONES. I'm so happy for the kid, his performance was outstanding. The only downside to last night was Atletico snatching a last minute winner versus AC Milan. But we've done well so far this season, and are still unbeaten. So I think we've got a good chance against Atletico in out next two Champions League games, and if we win both of them we'll qualify out of the group early and can rest some players in the last two group games versus Porto and AC Milan. Alisson had barely anything to do, but will be disappointed to have not kept a clean sheet. Milner filled in well for the injured TAA. Matip and VVD were back to their best. Robbo was much improved too. Fabinho and Henderson were solid in midfield. Jones was the star of the show. Mane took his goal well. Salah was great as usual. Jota was unlucky not to get onto the scoresheet. Firmino was brilliant in his cameo appearance as a substitute to grab two goals. This will be a much needed confidence boost prior to our match versus Manchester City on the weekend.
