  While AVB was busy getting sacked there was also a Champions League draw happening.
  
  Remember how everyone was all like 'City and Arsenal finishing 2nd in their groups could come back to haunt them'?

  Olympiakos v Manchester United
  AC Milan v Atletico Madrid
  Bayer Leverkusen v Paris St-Germain
  Galatasaray v Chelsea
  Schalke v Real Madrid
  Zenit St Petersburg v Dortmund
  Arsenal v Bayern Munich
  
  First legs: 18/19/25/26 February
  Second legs: 11/12/18/19 March
  
  Lovely draw for United though, the jammy bastards, and Jose got his wish too; Didier Drogba returns to Stamford Bridge! Albeit in a Galatasaray shirt.
  
  So, Chelsea and United through, City and Arsenal out. We all agreed on that?

  I'd agree about Arsenal, sorry all you gooner boys but it looks highly unlikely... but not so much about City. Barcelona ain't the almighty crushing side they have been although catch them on a good day and you will be crushed, so I'm going with City to progress...
  
  and a surprise win for Olympiakos can't be totally ruled out, or maybe that's just wishful thinking lol...

  same here agree about man uunited, i think they be through pretty much. would be humiliating if they didn't go through. arsenal look all but done, bayern are just too solid for them, but barca are by no means guaranteed.
  
  they have plenty of bad days, plenty of defensive holes and i get the feeling they'll still be having injury problems even by the time they have to play in february

  A rare Old Trafford clean sheet for Roy Carroll perhaps? They're not a bad side really. Mitroglou's a cracking player and Saviola's there too. Remember him?
  
  City 'could' get past Barca, but is anyone actually going to call it with any level of confidence?

  I would imagine you would get decent odds so worth a punt. How about a double on Man City (7/4) and Olypiakos (11/4) to progress? That ought to be decent enough - around 9.30....
  
  City are around 15/8 and Olympiakos 5/2 to win these first matches, that'll give around 9.00 for the double - worth a punt as well...

  I can see some shocks coming through also, man city and arsenal to go through...just however and probably on away goals...could be wrong but i can see real madrid winning it this year with man city close in the final

  I think for Manchester City this will be a big challenge has Barcelona have been in the champions league more than city. Their will be a good challeng e to see how Messi and Aguero do. I hope to see this as one of the best last 16 game. Arsenal and Bayern Munich seems like an interesting match as Arsenal have some german players. So podolski against the like of reus interesting.

  that will get man city and arsenal out of the equation although at the minute in don't know who i would rather have in the competition. man city or barcelona and i would definately rather have arsenal than bayern munich!!

  Feeling a lot more confident about City's chances now than I was when the draw was made.
  
  Chelsea will be alright, and even David Moyes should be able to figure out how to get past Olympiakos.
  
  Arsenal are fucked though.
