  Earlier today, while round a mates house, we decided to watch the new Keanu Reeves action thriller John Wick. Has anyone else seen it? What did you think? For me it was some of Keanu's finest work in some time. A by the numbers revenge action thriller. The dialogue is not gonna win any awards but, none the less, it was an entertaing 90+ minutes. Also starring Ian Mcshane and William Dafoe, its got some acting pedigree going for it as well. Predictable, cheesy dialogue but still very entertaining.

  I thought it was an amazing, heavily stylised, action movie. The story line is simple but it's beautifully shot and takes you out of the really world just enough for it to work on a slight fantasy level without it being absurd.

  Keanu is fuckin' awesome.
  The action scenes were really really good. I liked the way he headshots everyone :D

  It was a really fun ride of a movie. It was fairly simplistic but it was all the better for it. A great revenge thriller with Keanu as effectivly a one man army. Loved the way pretty much everyone in the film seemed to know who he was, even if it was just by heresay. The other characters were good as well. Its good see, along with the likes of man of tai chi, Keanu kicking ass once again.

  After reading this thread I decided to check out the film last night, brilliant film, full of action, admitidly never really been a Keeanu Reeves fan, but this was some very fine work on his part, as others have said, very simple plot but action films don't always need a deep seeded storyline behind them

  Bravo to you Outlaw1987 for checking out John Wick based on the comments here. I just hope that with this and a couple of Keanus other recent films, that we are seeing the rise again of Keanu Reeves. Still waiting for Bill and Ted 3 though.

  I'm waiting for another Matrix but John Wick will do for now.
  
  There is not a lot of movies with proper guns choreography being made (Shoot 'Em Up with Clive Owen anyone?) but one thing that I love about them must be double tap! One in the chest and one in the head will always do the job.
  
  Simple story with juicy action scenes that are filmed the way you can actually see everything - without quick cuts and close ups.
  
  But there is just one bad thing about the movie. At some point bad guys have John on his knees and tight up. Why wasn't he killed right there? Main villain had to make his speech, bleh, so 80's.
  
  Props for nice tune in the background and good camera work in general.
  Oh and Willem Dafoe, like his character.

  I saw the trailer for this, it looked a little ridiculous, his driving force for revenge is his dog? Like taken without the family then lol.
  I'll probably give it a watch eventually but not a big fan of Keanu Reeves (and his one facial expression) so won't be in any rush to go out and watch it.

  Trust me, it works really well! The whole dog thing...i won't say anything more. Hope you enjoy it man. Keanu Reeves is a 'cardboard' actor, thats for sure...but..he's mother fucking Keanu Reeves!
