Meanwhile some still think brexit is a good idea and Boris is doing a great job!!!!!! Not to mention our HOME secretary who's only been wheeled out of hiding twice and both times managed to come up with such gems as shoplifting is down!!!

You couldn't make this shit up!

All fair points but Italy is still just about ahead of us on the death count, for now.

Guess we all better get suing too.

the government told us they had a delivery coming from turkey. but they told us this before they even ordered them.
we were told they would do 10000 tests a day. when they were pulled up on their failure they promised 25000 tests a day. another failure but they covered this up with another promise this time 100000 tests a day.
they Italians should be grateful they do not have the british government

This sentiment all summed up in Johnson's opening gambit. Why would they worry about lying this tie if they were clearly caught before and yet still re-elected.

It's almost as if the British public have a weird fetish for it.

don't get me started on brexit . if ever there was a con perpetrated on a public,,, anyway back to this ( our ) government letting down its people , what was it johnson said 'Salus populi suprema lex esto' ( the health of the people,,,) anyway operation cygnus and they did not get the ventilators required. companies produce PPE but they are left in the factory, 'you build them and we will buy them' remember that . Dyson shifted production to ventilators but the government has not placed any orders.
and as to the Italian death toll being higher than ours. smoke and mirrors. the Italian death toll includes the deaths from care homes which makes up 57 percent of their deaths while the deaths in england are hospital related only. it is just becoming clear how much has happened in the care homes. 12 thousand in the 2 weeks after Easter. puts the UK death toll above every other country except the US and the death rate per infection case is far and away higher in this country than anywhere. is this because our health workers don't care ? or they are lazy ? or is it because they have been let down by a government who were equally arrogant, uncaring and unwilling to hurt the economy to protect, first our elderly and then the rest of us from this virus.

and of course Boris is back our PM . and what a speech he made on his return,. we must be doing well, i quote 'many people will be looking at our success' (seriously read the speech,)
he has also withdrawn us from the EU pandemin Early Warning system. against scientific advice. but what need he of scientific advice. rememeber when prez Trump at one of his meetings read out the advice from their administration about wearing masks. he said it was voluntary and he probably wouldn't do it. and the BBC had him as their main item on the news Trump ignores his own advice was the headlinE did Boris get any of this criticism when we were told not to shake hands and he said he would continue shaking hands and also he had been shaking hands when he visited a hospital. this is the guy who let the cheltenham festival take place. the guy who let thousand of football fans from spain fly in to watch a match in england even though the spanish authorities would not let the spanish group in spain.
'PEOPLE WILL BE LOOKING AT OUR SUCCESS. is he deluded or does he believe the british public will swallow his lies whatever the facts.
they may do better look at countries like New Zealand who locked down hard and fast and only had 20 deaths. okay lockdown is bad for the economy we all know that. but how bad for the economy is 20 thousand dead. 100 thousand workers off sick.

so says the PM and shall we salute his success. they met the target of 100,000 tests. well done, but wait. can we trust these people ? hmmm, apparently the figures for testing were not all for the testing. some were for the kits they had sent out to peoples homes therefore the figures includes kits that had not been returned let alone not tested. shall we look at some of the PPE figures. the figures have been countong gloves as 2 items , left glove and a right glove , makes sense when you think of all those one handed surgeons. they have also included in the figures for protective equipment paper towels. ( i would not suggest that they counted each paper towel as one item but i have a feeling it may have been raised in a meeting ) , paper towels as protective items for NHS staff. do you remember the PM quoting Cicero, ' salus,,, e.t.c . the welfare of the people should be the highest law' . how about the welfare of the people ensuring the welfare of the people ?? anyone see the panorama special about the lack of PPE for health workers ? tory MP AndreW Griffiths said it was 'unbalanced and left wing party politics' these were allegations from doctors and nurses !! you know the people we clap for on a thursday night. apparently they are all communists anti-government propagandists.

thinking back to boris' speech about how well he handled this i keep remembering an interview i heard with him by jeremy Vine ( i think ) when he was saying that the mayor in the film JAWS was right not to close the beaches ( i have seen the movie he was wrong ) because the risk of a shark attack was small ( ignoring the evidence of a shark in the water ) and the damage to the economy would be big. hmmm this sounds familiar. boris ignored the evidence of the virus in china. iran italy and spain because he thought ( despite experts and evidence to the contrary ) that the damage to the economy would be too big. never mind all the dead loved ones. boris is the mayor in jaws.
actually now i think about it there is another scene in another film that comes to mind.
do you remember in ALIEN when Ripley (Sigourney Weaver ) refuses to allow the captain ( and the alien ) into the ship because of the risk ? and Ash ( ian holm ) opens the door. later they are discussing it.
Ash "i am still collating. it is an interesting combination making him a tough little son of a bitch"
RIPLEY " and you let it in"
Boris . YOU LET IT IN.

so we now have the highest number of deaths in europe, who is looking at our success. of course the government has said that we cannot compare countries as there are differences in the testing. but the other countries have all had higher testing rates so their number of covid deaths would actually be higher than ours. also they have said it cannot be compared as you need to look at the extra seasonal deaths for this year compared to other years.
a little complicated don't you think ? who can do that ? who has the time ?
yep you guessed it i have done it .
the interesting thing is Israel , Norway and South Africa have had no increases in death at all. obviously some people have stopped dieing there. maybe in israel the terrorists are in lockdown as in norway and south africa the murderers are staying home ( i have no idea about the murder rate in norway but i read a lot of jo nesbo and it seems high )
france has had an extra 20100 deaths lower than the extra from covid
spain has had an extra 32,000
    US 26,000
    italy 24,500
    Germany 1,300
and the UK 42,900 which even allowing for people not getting treatment for fear of going to hospital show a massive under reporting in the actual number of covid deaths
