For big companies, the use of certain colours in their marketing and branding has been very carefully selected. If you think the colour of their logo was just chosen to "look good" you're sorely mistaken. These huge companies have spent years studying the psychology of colour and how certain colours make people feel. Those companies then choose the colours that get their target audience to see what they want you to see, feel what they want you to feel, and to do what they want you to do. Kind of like brainwashing?!?



On the flip side though, if a company gets those colours wrong, it can have a huge negative impact and the marketing campaign that they probably spent millions on will be completely ignored. The use of colour is so important that even NASA provides online help so that non-designers can choose the right shade for their businesses.

Never underestimate the power of colour!
