  They are very similar in many ways and most people i know who played both prefer GTA, so which do you consider to be the better games?

  mmmmmmmm thats a hard 1 lol not reallly gta alllll day over saints row 3 simply because gta is the original plus its way more detailed the online is 100times better the saints row infact saints row 3 does even have online multiplayer just co op so its gta all the way cant wait till august when gta 5 arrives

  hard one for me this ' cause a love the johnny gat character in saints row comes out with some funny shit ' great character for the game reason why ya play it lol
  
  a think it comes down to what you prefer to be honest the both decent games in their own right but i wasnt bold over to be honest with the new installment of saints row ' a think gta egdes it 'but i would still buy them both.

  Would have to be GTA for me, there is so much depth to the Rockstar games, although to be fair I only played the first Saints Row game. Thought it was ok but not a patch on GTA

  I think the difference between GTA and Saints Row is that Saints Row is aimed more at being an entertaining and generally more fun game actually kind of like a more mental version of old GTA, wheras the last gta game was aimed at being darker and a little more realistic in tone.

  obviously gta is better, saints row is just a ghetto version of gta, and the graphics are absolutely shit compared to gta, and the story line is much better in gta, and in general its a better game

  if we base it off the most recent versions of each game, then i'd probably go for saints row. a while back it would have been GTA, but to me one of the best things about GTA was driving about, doing crazy stunts, running about with mental weapons etc.. etc... and it was just good fun, but the recent games they've gone to serious and focused too much on storylines and npc's at the expense of the fun
  
  but saints row is just out and out over the top fun, the graphics on the new game have a real nice almost cell shaded type feel to them and it just seems like they took everything that used to make saints row fun and improved on it

  That was pretty much the same problem i had with GTA that even though i did like it, i missed the mad stunt aspects and general crazy parts, i actually would like to see the next GTA bring back some more of those aspects but i don't see that happening.

  its more than likely going to be even more "realistic" or in other words boring. they don't seem to understand that a phone ringing constantly with seriously uninteresting npc's on the other end does not make for a good game!
