  The last three episodes of season eight are where Game of Thrones fell off for me. I would've been happy if it ended with the Battle of Winterfell. The destruction of King's Landing felt rushed and underwhelming. So I'm hoping HBO have learned from the errors of the ending of Game of Thrones, and don't drop the ball again with House of Dragons.

  The official trailer for the long awaited ‘House of Dragons’ is here. Now we all know that ‘Game of Thrones’ has one of the fans turns ever witnessed by a fanbase after a poor last series and even more dismal finale but will there be enough interest in the prequel for a Phoenix effect? I know I’ll be watching, let’s hope it’s worth sticking with.

  Episode seven
  All the most powerful families in Westeros arrive on Driftmark for a funeral. Otto returns to take a seat on the small council. The cousins have a disagreement that leads to a massive confrontation that could have huge consequences. Vhager has a new owner. Daemon puts a plan in action that effects his brother and his niece.

  Episode eight
  Corlys is severely injured, and talks begin about who will take his throne. Vicerys is severely ill, and talks begin again about who will take his throne. The houses of Hightower, Valeryon and Targareyan all stake their claim in various ways, be they legitimate or illegitimate, so Daemon takes things into his own hands. Vicerys reaffirms that he wants his daughter on the throne, and Corlys wants his grandson to to take his. But during a family dinner the dividing lines are emboldened, and new alliances are formed.

  I’m not reading the thread simply because I’m unsure as to whether I care about spoilers at this point. Watched ep 1 and thought it was average then ep saw about 20 mins before I switched it off. Is it worth going back to and sticking with?

  LOL spelling their names is harder than remembering them. There are some characters that I thought were cousins that are actually uncles/aunts and nieces/nephews.

  Talking about each episode without giving spoilers away, and also not giving my opinion until the season concludes, rather than as the story progresses, is really hard finding that balance. It's like trying to talk about a film after every ten minutes. 
  
  If you've got time to binge watch the first five episodes, then I'd give it another chance, because by the end of that episode is when everything kicks off. But the first four episodes are all about building up the characters, what their vested interests are and how they conflict with each other. Paddy Constandine and Matt Smith are really good, as are the four actresses that play young/old Alicent and young/old Rhaenyra.
