  Good recomendation as far as 'Lights Out' goes, Jesslloydfan. Tries something a little different as far as horror thrillers go and for the most part, suceeds. While i felt the infiltrators could have been played by anyone, after seeing the film, feel the powers that be made absolutely the right choice with the home occupier..he was fantastic (even if i cant recall the actors name, only seeing him in other bits over the years..and rarely as a good guy if memory serves). Next on the viewing agenda (really should have watched it by now) is 'Siren'..you know, the feature length film based on that short tale from the first vhs movie, with that woman who is not all she appears to be (trying not to give to much away here guys lol). Will review after.

  dont knock twice was ok, trailer was pretty good and i think i seen that main lady before in another movie, will check it out if i come across it, the box look like it was going to be good until the last quarter of the trailer made it look like a low budget movie

  Oh joy..another Chucky film. That said though, when it crops up on home release, you just kknow its gonna be watched (curiosity, boredom, slow film week..you decide haha). I did read up soomewhere some of the basics about 'xx'. Is it by chance, while being directed by all female directors, produced by the same company as the v/h/s films..just getting that vibe. This isnt a critiscism, if that is the case, that pedigree alone will guarantee i give it a looksee.

  After attempting to watch the appauling 'A serie of unfortunate events' and the underwhelming, laugh free 'Boo! A Madea halloween' being at the end of my rope, tv / film wise this evening, decided to take a chance on a new high school horror ' Bad kids of crestview academy'. Didnt know a great deal about the film other than the basic premise, but given one or 2 critic revviews on imdb promising some ott gore, thought id give it a shot. After all the ever reliable Gina Gershon and Sean Astin are in it..what could possibly go wrong..oh hang on, who was in it again. I endured an hour of this tripe for 2 reasons, 1. the fam was atching it and not complaining and 2.the og was on my lp asleep so i couldnt really get up to turn it off. An hour or so in i left them watching it while i tidyed up..and im the horror fan. Mediocre at best, all over the place, some suggestive gore at best with some less han stellar performances, even from the established cast. Avoid like the plague and thank me later for those 90 minutes of existence clawed back prior to wasting lol.

  i didnt expect another chucky movie, but i guess its coming and i will watch it, not the biggest fan of chucky movies but i think they are ok, this one might be the best one we will see

  Yeah the xx film is being marketed on the directed all by women angle, not a criticism of the idea mind. Just seems strange to stress that so much that it makes it seem like a gimmick. That said the clips look promising.
  They are not going to stop making Chucky films, they don't exactly spend a lot on them and there is obviously enough lingering fanbase to give each film a small profit... Also why in the fuck did you watch a madea halloween? That has awful written all over it.

  Cheers for the info on The XX, I saw this was out but was really unsure. I like an anthology horror movie, the ABC's of Death 1 and 2 were both amazing and I didn't mind VHS 1 and some of 2 so it'll be good to see what this has to offer. I would avoid the anthology Holidays it was a bit of a let down even with Kevin Smith on board for one scene.

  I know right, what can i say but there's poxt imdb for you. Supposedly that Madea bollocks was meant to be very good..but only if you happen to have a particular comedic style preference...find it hard to believe though that anyone enjoyed that shit haha. Anthologys are still a mixed bag nowadays but the vhs guys (and South bound..dont forget the fantastic Southbound) really do know their stuff. While i enjoyed some of the letters in ABC'S, id have to say no more than 5 or 6 in each instalment. Given that ratio, im still undecided if i enjoyed them on the whole. As for 'Holidays', an admirable attempt at trying something a little different but ultimatly it fell flat (pretty much all segments).

  @ FantasticMR, i find anthologies are very hit and miss. Some are really good and some are just a random collection of crap by people who couldn't stretch their shit idea to even a short film. 
  I have been meaning to check out 'Holidays', i wasn't expecting it to be that good anyway so will probably still watch it.
  
  Watched a horror film on Netfix last night 'Funhouse Massacre' was not good. Marginally entertaining at times but the tone was weird and it got totally ridiculous towards the end. Some pretty hot women in it though, but that doesn't make the film good.
