  Hmm, last night (saturday) was not a good night for new films. Put on a total of 3 films and each wound up being turned off after 20 minutes a piece. Hooror wise the offending film was called 'The Funhouse Massacre'. Straight to dvd, b movie fare starring Robert Englund (briefly) and a whole host of unknowns. Downloaded purely based on a couple of reasonable reviews and a fairly interesting / fun premise (group of escaped lunatics go on a killing spree at a funfair). Despite some reasonable gore it really was a load off bollocks..even for a b movie horror. With nothing redeeming this got promptly turned off. Avoid.

  i have to say oculus looks fucking scary, and i do the mirror horror type of movies and that trailer look really good, if any of u have the chance check out a movie called descent 1, i thought that was pretty scary

  Oculus.. gotta say didnt hate the film, there were some redeeming qualities but its not one i would feel the need to ever watch again. However ,and by Descent one im assuming you are talking about The Descent, that is one bloody fantastic horror and one in my orginal purchases collection. Love that film. The most recent horror i watched the other day is called 'Daylights End'. Downloaded purely on the back of some positive online reviews (not the fact that it starred Lance Henriksen amongst others). Basic straight to dvd horror fare to do with an apocalypse of sorts that has caused the vast majoriity of people to be turned in a hybrid of vampires and the rage infected from '28 days later'. Theres some half decent action but that alone cannot really save a film. Did watch to the end but marred by forgettable characters, no plot whatsoever, some dodgy editing, only rare close ups of the infected etc..make thi a one watch only at best. if in a moment of desperation theres certainly more shit films out there.

  Oculus was a good one i thought, kept you guessing and had a pretty good ending. Quite an interesting idea as well and it plays with the idea of is any of the horror that's occurring on screen is real or delusion (all i'm saying as to avoid spoilers). The Descent is very good, the setting makes for an effective horror setting. Although i didn't find the sequel to be as good, sort of ignored a lot of the ending of the first one.
  
  I realise that i've not updated the thread for a while, waiting until i have more than two films to add lol.

  One that petrified my as a kid (at least for the 1st half of the film) was IT. Tim Curry's Pennywise was legitimately fucking creepy. I'm sure more of you know but it's being remade and they recently released a promo image for the new Pennywise to be played by Bill Skarsgård. It doesn't look half as scary to me and I think that's because they've tried too hard.

  Mixed feelings on the IT remake, on the one hand it's a genuinely very good book so there's no reason why it couldn't make a good film or more correctly two, since that's the plan (original adaption was a mini series).
  But no offense to the actor playing Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) who isn't bad, i think he'll struggle to be as good as Tim Curry. I  can understand a different look too differentiate the versions a bit but would have to see it in action to really judge. If nothing else if the rating isn't too low it won't have the same limitations as the tv adaption (which i liked but did have to be toned down in places).

  Oh yeah, The 'It' movie. Nah, im not sold. Then again, i hope to be proved wrong. I do need to rewatch the original Tim Curry tv series at some point. Can recall his look and demenour being effective but beyond that i can recall precisely bugger all about the original series. Not sold on the new look. Suffice to say this will be an online download only my end.

  a prank gone wrong, good neighbour looked interesting i will for sure check it out, and tell me how i die looks good to, reminds me of final destination with them finding out how they die before they die and try to avoid it

  I think 'the Good neighbour' looks interesting in no small part for the fact that James Caan looks like he's playing an excellent crazy in it. Probably only loosely counts as horror though but i couldn't resist. 'Tell me how i die' does have a Final destination vibe, with added mind altering drugs though.
