  Who are your favourite directors,
  it doesn't have to be a top 5 or anything like that,
  
  Mine would be
  Frank Darabont, done many great films and is responsible for the best of the stephen king adaptions,
  Guilermo del toro, he's got a very unique style and most of his films are brilliant,
  Sam Raimi, have to include raimi, he did the evil dead films and the spider-man films which personally are some of my favourite films,
  
  those are the only 3 i can think of off the top of my head, i'm sure i'll think of more later,
  who are others favourites?

  i like brian de palma and also martin scorcese, will have to think some more that i like as well
  
  basically i love gangster flicks but i'm sure i'll think of a few more good directors besides those two above as well

  I'm personally not that big a fan of gangster films, i find them a bit predictable and repititive,
  but each to their own, i do occasionaly find them entertaining if theres nothing else on though.

  Quentin Tarantino's a pretty good one, i liked From Dusk Til Dawn also both Kill Bills were pretty good then theres Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction , Desperado, Jackie Brow n and Little Nicky

  Tarantino is another good one yes,
  he's very good at dialogue and his films are always a bit weird which i like,
  inglourious bastards is really good, and i love the ending and it's total disregard for reality more interesting than your standard war film.

  never really though about this but good thread mind/question mind gunna have to have a good think about this cause the is alot movies i do like :) that are direct by few different/same director's a gunna throw guy richie out there to start with before i re post later with my top 5
  
  guy = has produce some good movies ' for example snatch ' lock stock ' sherlock homes ' etc.. just 1st couple come to me head

  the truth is i don't have a particular thing for the gangster theme it's just that it's worked out in film history that some of the best films happen to be about gangsters
  
  i actually can't think of any of the greatest ganster flicks (godfather, goodfellas, casino etc) that are predictable or repetitive any more than any other genre. as in, obviously the gangster always gets fucked in the end etc, but that's only as predictable as 'someone is gonna get slashed' in a horror movie.
  
  but yea the films i mentioned above, plus scarface, donny brasco, it's all good :) i don't know how many ganster films you've seen but you should imo see more lol (again to each their own)

  How about Ridley Scott as well that guy has made some pretty kick ass movies especially some really awesome GUY movies lol which is always good. Dude has been doing it for a really long time too. So he will go on my list as well.

  Agreed on Ridley Scott, he is a very talented director, he doesn't do as many films lately, although he is releasing a film next year prometheous, the film that may or may not be a prequal to Alien they haven't confirmed either way.
