Must say i'm a bit surprised at the omissions of Wes Morgan & Jermain Defoe, Rashford won't be selected, the 3 most liikely cuts are Rashford, Delph & Henderson/Wilshere
Wes Morgan is a Jamaica international - and Defoe? I like Defoe and he scores goals but he isn't an international level striker and arguably never has been.
Looking forward to this tournament perhaps more than I have any in a while. If we can keep expectations down and let a fairly young squad just see what they can do we might even enjoy the ride, -

Thats exactly my point.
Maybe if England fans stop expecting and start supporting, they might wake up and actually have a good tournament for once!
Also great to see Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland in the tournament. Always a team to back! -

Looking at the strikers though, if Welbeck didn't suffer that injury, he'd no doubt have been in the squad, then who would Hodgson have dropped?, probably Vardy due to lack of tournament experience -

I don't think Vardy would have been in any danger of missing out. Rashford's taken Welbeck's place, and will probably be left behind after the friendlies, but had Welbeck been fit I reckon he'd have taken 5.
Welbeck tends to play wide for England so more likely one of the wingers (not short of centre mids in the squad either) would have been cut instead. Plus Vardy can play wide, Rooney's expected to play a bit deeper... Not like it's 4 or 5 out and out centre forwards all vying for 1 or 2 starting spots. -

if he some how plays Rooney behind the two strikers is the only way i see Rashford going to the Euro's
not sure its wise for Hodgson to be only taking 3 CB, like i know Dier can play there but its like the situation with ManUtd using midfielders as CB's. -

Risky one innit. But who else do you take? No point wasting a space in the squad on someone like Jagielka when, if push came to shove, you'd just play Dier there anyway.
And the Dier situation is a little different to Blind, it's only really this season he's started playing midfield. Always been known as a centre half/right back previously.
