It seems we were all justified in saying No yesterday as England fail by quite a margin to take this one, especially when Buttler and Bopara went in quick succession, and a card slightly reminiscent of the Aussie one, with all too many batsmen failing to capitalise on a start, where there was one...

On balance I think it'd have been unjust had we taken anything from the series. Shame to see the Aussies having 'the momentum' going in to the Ashes though... How worried should we be about that??
At least Bopara put an innings together, that's something. Just been looking at his Wikipedia page actually, apparently his nickname is 'Mallet of Everlasting Righteousness'. Could just be the result of someone pissing about with the edits of course, but either way, that's lovely stuff. -

Yeah, the Aussies did play better than us, so deserved something, and it might do England good, as it showed that they still need to improve, and let's hope the 'Mallet' keeps his form - that's a killer nickname...
I'm not sure it'll have any effect on the return Ashes series, especially for the Aussies, they'll probably change half the squad from the one day team anyway. But it will give them some bragging and ragging rights.
Apparently they were talking last night on commentary that the Aussies who go to India for some games won't return until after England have turned up in Australia, so that may have them a bit jaded? Whatever happens, expect it to be exciting, and to have sleepless nights as well... damn silly being on the other side of the world lol...
