  1990, 1996, 2010 - Not so good.
  
  Which way will 2013 go? Chris Smalling's starting at centre half, maybe not so good?
  
  Roy's not mucking about. He named his starting eleven earlier today at the press conference.
  
  And here it is...
  
  Hart; Walker, Smalling, Jagielka, Cole; Gerrard (capt), Cleverley, Townsend, Rooney, Lallana, Sturridge.
  
  Just 2 friendlies left after this one, so the likes of Townsend, Lallana (and Smalling) will need to make a good impression.

  Fair to Roy for exploring his options at centre half but given that Moyes doesn't view Smalling as a centre half choice for united, then it's a strange choice. Surely Ross Barkley should be starting instead Cleverley

  Tom Cleverly. I don't know what Roy sees in him but I'm not getting it at all.

  I have to admit that I felt Cleverley had a lot of potential a couple of seasons back but he's not trained on in racing terms. The thing is that Roy knows all about Cleverley so surely he needs to give Barkley a chance to show what he's got against a decent team

  Obviously not quite as vital as England v Germany, but these games are happening tonight too. Something or other to do with World Cup qualification...
  
  First leg scores in brackets.
  
  Sweden v Portugal (0-1)
  France v Ukraine (0-2)
  Romania v Greece (1-3)
  Croatia v Iceland (0-0)
  
  All eyes on the French then, as well as Zlatan v Ronaldo (Sweden v Portugal).
  
  And in Africa it's;
  
  Egypt v Ghana (1-6)
  Algeria v Burkina Faso (2-3)
  
  With the winners of those ties joining the already qualified Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Cameroon in Brazil next year.
  
  So it's looking like a decent night of football all in all.

  What are your thoughts on the England game in terms of potential result, I think it might be a tight game as England will make sure they play better tonight and Germany are resting a few players as well

  I went for 3-1 to Germany, but a draw or a German win by the odd goal wouldn't surprise me. Can't see England winning though.

  Romania 0-1 Greece (1-4)
  
  The Greeks can probably start thinking about flights and hotels now.
  
  They're underway in Sweden too but France v Ukraine is an 8pm kick off, as is England v Germany. Here are the teams for that one:
