There are no matches tomorrow as it's a rest day!!!

    It all resumes on Thursday though with;
South Africa vs Netherlands in the morning match followed by
    England vs Sri Lanka

The Netherlands will be hoping to put on a better show, well they couldn't really do any worse could they?? Could They??

and it's a simple task for England, win or be done with the tournament... Sri Lanka will also be hoping to make it 3 from 3 to virtually assure them of going through...

Fancy Holland Rolleyes 10/1 seems low odds if you ask me... 1/20 for South Africa, shitty odds but one you are sure to win on...
Although on the 'Team to Make Highest 1st 6 Overs Score' market, you can get South Africa at 1/4...

8/15 for Sri Lanka, while England @ 6/4... it may well be time to say bye bye to England in this match...

Here's the tables as they stand.. As you can see, todays win has put the W-Indies with a nice Run Rate advantage, it may well come down to the last match of the group stages against Pakistan to see if they do go forward to the semis...

After a day off, it's back to it with South Africa taking on the mighty Netherlands, it could be another early finish to this match... The Netherlands will be desperate to put on a good show and South Africa will be looking to heave up their run rate...

Netherlands win the toss and decide to bowl first, well that means we'll get a full 20 overs at least from the South Africans...

    Team News:
South Africa: Quinton de Kock (Wkt), Hashim Amla, Faf du Plessis ©, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Farhaan Behardien, Albie Morkel, Dale Steyn, Beuran Hendricks, Imran Tahir, Lonwabo Tsotsobe.
Netherlands: Stephan Myburgh, Michael Swart, Wesley Barresi (Wkt), Tom Cooper, Ben Cooper, Peter Borren ©, Mudassar Bukhari, Logan van Beek, Timm van der Gugten, Pieter Seelaar, Ahsan Malik.

    Time to play..
It's a spin option to start with from the Dutch and a successful one as Swart gets de Kock caught at square leg, 3-1Amla though has other ideas and he's looking to score fast, that run rate could be all important.. but in the 5th Amla has a swipe, gets a faint edge and caught behind, 43 from 22, 45-2.
Powerplay gone and 58-2, could we see 200 being posted here??
Onto the 9th and du Plessis is caught out on the boundary after going for another 6, 84-3.
The 10th over and half way... and almost another wicket as Morkel almost gets himself run out... 92-3, that 200 total is still on.

and very next ball de Villiers goes... also going for a big shot and caught at deep cover... 92-4

No 200 total today as it's all calmed down now, Morkel the next to go in the 13th, 102-5. Duminy also goes in the 16th, 120-6, the Dutch will be happy with this performance so far...

!!! I'm not sure this is really going the way that South Africa expected, especially after the start they got, Steyn edges to the keeper, 127-7 with 19 balls left... This tail line up is not usually known for it's batting ability, so the Dutch will be considering the win if they can bat half decent...
It's 8 down now as Hendricks also goes trying to give it a whack, 133-8, 11 balls left, perhaps we won't see a full 20 overs from South Africa after all!!!! 4 balls later, 135-9 and the last recognised batsman, Miller goes, that's 5 wickets for Ahsan Malik, impressive...
Yowser... a dropped catch... that allows South Africa to complete their 20 but far from posting a total that's unreachable...
    SOUTH AFRICA: 145-9

Now if only the Dutch can get it together, they could be in with a chance...

7.3 an over required for the Dutch to have an unlikely win.. Any other team, you'd be thinking, hell yeah it's on... but these Orangemen, well, who knows?...

A good enough start, 12 from the first two overs. Make that 30 from three as some great boundary hitting by Myburgh... 11/8 now for Holland to win, crazy man...
Dale Steyn charges in for his first over, how many wickets? 1, 2, 3??? well the answer is 0, 36-0 after 4.
Oooo-Aaaah, so close to batting out the Powerplay unscathed, with the penultimate ball left Swart is caught at mid off, but 63-1 from the first 6 overs... If they can avoid their silly collapse again, it's less than a run a ball from here...
Myburgh gets his 50, the only 50 of the match so far? and it's for Netherlands, go figure... Commentators curse!!! he's out for 51.. 80-2 from 8, still less than a run a ball, SA will be feeling quite anxious right now methinks...

Is this the collapse beginning? Barresi trapped lbw by Tahir, 82-3, no need to panic quite yet...
Half way through and 90-3, 56 needed from 60 balls or 7 wickets to lose... It's not looking all roses for SA at all...
Of course, say that, and another wicket... the Captain is also lbw by Tahir, 97-4.
Steyn gets his 2nd wicket as Ben Cooper makes only 5, 116-5 with 7 overs to go...

From the jaws of victory they sink to defeat, as the last wicket falls in the 19th over, so close, yet not quite, still it keeps SA in the hunt...

NETHERLANDS: 139 all out lose by 6 runs

So it was a dead rubber, we weren't going through, but...

    Netherlands 133-5 (20 overs) beat England 88 (17.4 overs) by 45 runs

    WTF?!

Plenty of competition of course, but is that the low point of the winter?

Massive-bastard hailstones have brought proceedings to a premature close in the first semi-final between the West Indies and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka got a full 20 overs in and finished 160-6, the Windies though could only manage 80-4 from 13.5.

And according to Duckworth-Lewis, that means a 27-run win for Sri Lanka. Harsh.

They'll play the winner of South Africa v India, which takes place tomorrow, in Sunday's final.

    Hopefully it stays dry, eh?

No rain for today's second semi!

South Africa batted first and scored a decent looking 172-4.

Not enough though, with India reaching 176-4 with 5 balls to spare.

They'll play Sri Lanka in Sunday's final.

Happy days for india, played well today. Unbeaten in the tournament looks like they may go on to win it. Hopefully they do. Best team in the tournament so far.
