  You don't have to look much further than our opponents for these two matches to appreciate that things could be a hell of a lot worse, though at the same time, what you're about to see is unlikely to leave you feeling confident for this summer's World Cup...

  Obviously Harry Kane's out injured (and let's all pray he recovers in time for Russia) but otherwise those 27 players are about as good as it gets.
  
  Burnley duo Nick Pope and James Tarkowski earn their first call-ups, as does Lewis Cook of Bournemouth and Swansea defender Alfie Mawson.  Jake Livermore, meanwhile, appears to still be a thing despite the fact he plays for West Brom and isn't very good.  And if the paucity of options in central midfield isn't enough to bring you out in a sweat then cast your eye over the goalkeeping options.  Frightening.
  
  The squad travel to Holland for the first match on March 23rd, before facing Italy at Wembley on the 27th.  Confident?

  Only a little.What did we learn from Amsterdam? .We are useless still. The dutch made us look good What a nightmare to watch these dutch going down hill fast.With Koeman in charge it was like watching Everton all over again.Rashford and Sterling up front bad format.They didn't create one assist or chance.Why is Sterling so good for city but so so shit for England? .Cant even say Pickford should go to Russia he looks well dodgy with all that passing out from the back all the time fucking useless idea.Chamberlain looked good for 5 minutes but soon faded.The only good points were the defence but only cos the other team made them look good.Oh yea Lingard scored a goal but didn't even know he was playing till then.
  
  Hope some improvement happens on Tuesday but I wont hold my breath.Hope so though.

  World Cup 2018: 'Give us some love' - Raheem Sterling tells England fans 26.03.18
  
  England forward Raheem Sterling has urged fans to "give love" to the team going into this summer's World Cup in Russia.
  They have three more warm-up games before the tournament, starting with Italy at Wembley on Tuesday, having beaten the Netherlands 1-0 on Friday.
  Sterling told BBC Radio 5 live: "I feel sometimes there is too much negativity.
  "I would love to hear some positive notes coming in, just to let the boys know everyone is behind them."
  Sterling, 23, made his international debut in 2012 and has won 36 caps, although he has been subjected to boos at stages of his England career.
  "If you want your country to do well as everyone says, bring a positive light to it," the Manchester City winger said.
  "Make the boys go off to the World Cup with a clear head, that everyone is behind them and everyone is with them, and trust me I think you would definitely see a better England.
  "I think if we get behind those players, give them love, you wouldn't know how much that will help them, how much that would boost their confidence."
  
  For fucks sake give us something to love and we,ll love back especially in Sterlings case

  Another great performance.Well we didn't lose did we .A bit unlucky with the penalty but he wont be going Russia.Sterling asked for love but once again he played crap.67 minute nice bit of one touch football chance for Sterling to score but Nope he puts it over the bar (useless) he,ll be going to Russia but only cos he can fall over .Stones another City player is there a thing going on here played crap but one City player playing to more than his ability is Walker he has duracells.Oxlaide well he will be well lucky to be on the plane.He had one of his best games in a white shirt Young he done his job .Ok the Italians weren't at their best but we still were better than them.Vardy should start against Tunisia.Goalkeeper Pickford for now anyway.Rose and Walker definite certs.

  James Tarkowski's England debut means Burnley have to pay Brentford £500,000
  
  
  Burnley defender James Tarkowski was handed his international debut as England took on Italy at Wembley last night.
  And his place in the starting XI handed his former club Brentford a £500,000 windfall.
  The payout relates to a number of clauses linked to international achievements in the defender's contract when he made the switch from west London to Lancashire back in 2016.
  Burnley must pay Brentford £1million for each competitive England start and £500,000 per sub appearance.
  The Championship club will also receive £500,000 per friendly start and £250,000 per sub appearance.
  
  Oh well they wont be getting any more.
