DUDE ACCIDENTALLY EMAILS HARRY POTTER PORN FANFICTION TO ENTIRE OFFICE

We've all done it; sent the wrong message to the wrong person. I once sent an email bitching about someone to the person I was actually bitching about. Oops. Luckily, what I did was nowhere as bad as this poor dudes mishap, who recently sent his Harry Potter porn fan fiction to everyone in his office. He took to Reddit to explain his fuck-up and I must admit, I feel for the guy.

I was emailing a text containing the latest installment of my fanfiction to myself because I’d written it on my laptop and I wanted to edit it on my desktop.
But I typed in my work email by accident. It’s extremely similar to my personal email, but my work email automatically forwards every incoming message to everyone in my department. Didn’t even think about it.
I’ve never actually gotten physically sick because of a mistake before. The panic has died down a little. I’ve begun to accept that this is my life now.
It’s not even tame porn you guys.
I’m going to resign tomorrow, early in the morning, by means of a letter; leave my keys to the building in the envelope; and go back to get a different degree. I’ve been thinking about doing it for a while. Guess I don’t really have a choice now.

I can't imagine how mortified he must have felt when he realised his mistake. Normal porn is one thing but when you're writing your own story about naked wizards fucking each other it all gets a tad embarrassing.



After his post, he received hundreds of messages offering him advice on how to get out of his sticky situation. One guy had some pretty sound advice:

"My personal email address was compromised, the attachment may be a virus. Delete the email.”

Send this in an email from another email address and you’re good to go.

The poor dude later thanked everyone for their advice and reassurance but said that he still planned on resigning:

Thank you guys for all the advice and reassurance you’ve offered. You have no idea how much I needed it. I feel a little more human now, but this thread has gotten away from me.

I still plan on resigning. I liked my job, but my boss will hear about this one way or another and as much as I appreciate all of the lies you’ve suggested, I honestly can’t lie to her. I’m a shitty shitty liar and she’s a very sharp woman. I won’t get fired, she’d never pay unemployment as long as she lived, but I can’t hope to move up in this particular company after something like this, and my life could get very difficult where I’m at.
I intend to go back to school. It’s what I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, but I never had the courage to move forward with it. Fortunately the nearby college has a good nursing program and I’m taking steps to register for Fall.

Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to go lie in bed and stare at the ceiling.

Jeez. Imagining changing your entire career path because of geniune mistake?! Hopefully this guy can find himself an even better job.

Shouldnt pose too much of a problem for the guy. I hear that his self penned Harry Potter adult fan fiction ws of such a quality that JK herself has offered him a job connected with the next film in the series lol. I real shame the guy felt the need to resign..you'd hope that his colleagues would see the funny side (if only that was always the case but you can guarantee that theres always one).
