Yes Bill did save the best till last with regards her performance it was by far better than any other this season, and yes the Missy/Master ending was a massive disappointment and anti-climax! And no idea what kicked off the regeneration maybe a bad bit of scriptwriting? And a Harry Potter link at the end bringing David Bradley aka Argus Filch in at the end playing the first Doctor aka William Hartnell. WTF very lazy writing and proves they have no idea who will be the next Doctor!

Ooh, unless the christmas special is gonna be a Dr Who / Harry Potter crossover (what do you mean thats not bleedin likely lol). Honestly given the frozen landscape and it setting up the christmas special..was really hoping that mysterious figure was gonna be santa Claus...instead i was just left thinking 'Whatever'. Conspiracy theorists are stating that owing to a conversation between the master and the dr in the last episode, given some of the wording used, they are convinced more than ever that the next dr will be a woman. Personally, im not against that at all..so long as shes good in the role..not too much too ask is it.

So now the new Doctor has been revealed as Jodie Whittaker a member of the Broadchurch cast where the new executive producer has defected from! So no favouritism involved at all was there? Anyway hope you have all had a rest/sit down before taking it all in! Yes a WOMAN as the new Doctor the PC brigade got there way and at least it wasn't Miranda Hart who it was rumoured had been talked about and even allegedly might have auditioned.

I guess no one working on Dr Who has heard the old saying, "If it's not broke, don't fix it".
If they wanted a good female Timelord, create one, don't take the established lead and mess around with him.

I've been reading through the replies to the announcement on the BBC news twitter feed. A lot of people men and women coming out to say it's a bad idea and that they won't be watching the next season.
Slightly concerning on the twitter feed though is the amount of abuse those who don't like the change are receiving. Just about all of the "no" tweets I read were simply saying no and not watching. All of the replies they received were full of name calling and being told where to stick their objections.

From what I've seen the latest season's viewing figures were down on previous seasons. Perhaps this was an attempt to boost them, which may end up killing the show on the BBC as more viewers switch off.

Have you had a rest/sit down burns? Must be exhausting having to constantly drag all those passive aggressive conspiracy theories around.

Good that you've seen the silver lining though. imagine if it was Miranda Hart! Not only a woman, but a woman that you wouldn't even consider knocking one out over. It'd surely be one waste of license payers' money too far.

Yeah them making the Doctor a woman now, thus making the Timelord's civilisation really weird and confusing as fuck. Seriously think about it, your mum can not only end up younger than you but also become a man, and same with your dad. And either everyone on Gallifrey is bisexual or there would be lots of destroyed relationships and screwed up families.
What's worse is that the lead writer for the next series went into wanting to make the change for the sake of making a change, and was blatant nepotism in casting someone they've already worked with.
I can see this causing problems with the already struggling ratings.

I have seen alot of people on twitter giving it 2 years max then it will disappear again and this time may be forever! Hopefully not I won't desert it will give her a chance as she will be better than Paul McGann who even though was a made for tv film was bloody terrible, and so was Eric Roberts as the Master it was a load of bullshit!

My attitude to the next Dr being female (be her a gorgeous one at that)..hey, after the average at best Capaldi years, why not try a fresh spin on things. Naturally its gonna raise eyebrows that the new guy in charge also happens to have worked with her before but hey, so long as she brings her A game and breathes life into a show that frankly hasnt been all that since after the Tennant era, im not gonna critiscise. Of course if she and or the show turn out to be rubbish..then i'll tear the show to verbal shreds lol. Wonder if this means that the companion will be male?

Yes a waste of license payers' money. Broadchurch was rubbished ITV ... Not very good actor Jodie Whittaker

Gotta say, Lovely_Pat, although Jodie Whittaker looks familiar, never having watched Broadchurch (no particular reason, just content to let it pass me by), honestly cant recall seeing her in anything else. Would hope that this may lead to sexing Dr Who up a bit..thats from my perspective. Will never happen though..the first hint of a cleavage shot of the new Dr and Who die hards (and the busibodies with nothing better to do than complain about everything on tv, content wise) will cause pandemonium on the internet. Still, as headlines go suppose it would make a nice change from all the airtime given to bbc stars salaries and fucking Brexit lol.
