Best band in the world ever imo. They never fail to absolutely kill live and they're the one band I would happily watch every single time they played here. I'm hoping Sonisphere will announce them as headliners this year - but not holding my breath!

that would be pretty cool. i remember one year they headlined download and they were so good, literally sounded as good as on a cd, not a beat missed. plus when it got to the time they were ment to stop bruce got on the mic and said "who the hell are we going to disrupt, the cows and the airport?" and then just blasted into another few songs lol

Just read something today about more of the lineup of this years download gotta say i'm not impressed, so far there are only about two or three bands i actually like the rest i'm indifferent about or just hate, and the worst one they even added chase and status to the bill, they are drum and bass for christs sake shouldn't be anywhere near download.

That announcement did nothing to convince me to go this year. The only band that really leaps out at me is Soundgarden, and even then it wouldn't be a patch on seeing them in their early 90s heyday.

As for Prodigy and Chase and Status on the Friday - WTF??!! This is Download FFS! I can't think of much worse than spending the night in a field full of pilled up poser-rockers trying to be ravers for the night.

There are about two bands i'd really like to see out of the acts so far Trivium and Black sabbath, the rest that i've seen so far don't impress me at all, i hate biffy clyro annoying indie garbage that shouldn't be anywhere near download,
as for the prodigy and chase and status, i can't quite put into words how much i hate both of them, and whoever decided that download desperately needed dance and drum and bass acts is a moron.

I agree with this sentiment entirely.

I have nothing against other genres of music - each to their own and all that - but if you have a successful ROCK / METAL festival, why fuck with it. All you're doing is alienating your core audience. I'm pretty sure that putting Chase & Status on at Download will put off more rock fans than it will attract D&B (or whatever genre they fall under) fans. Prodigy I have less of an issue with as they've embraced a rock element and used live guitars and drums for years now - but having them headlining the main stage at Download is still wrong imho.

I don't like The Prodigy either sound too much like generic dance to me and i despise dance music.
I actually hope that people ignore chase and status because if they don't get anyone watching then that will discourage them from booking an act like that for download again.

Unfortunately judging by the amount of douchebags dancing to a chick playing dubstep and dance music from a laptop on a Red Bull stand at Sonisphere last year I think they'll be quite popular. Drugs have a lot to answer for!

I`m hoping that this isn`t a sign of what they planning on doing when picking acts every year from now on, because if they start picking dance and drum and bass acts every year from now i`ll be very annoyed download is a rock and metal festival, i think the organisers have forgotten that.

I really don't know why decent metal bands go to Download, in my eyes it is a shit festival for metal wannabee's like Bring me the horizon, Asking Alexandria and there horrific set of fans.
