David Haye - Retirement
carl1984 > 17/11/2013, 22:20
Looks like it's the end of the road for two weight world champion Haye, can't see him coming back from this shoulder surgery and shame on Peter Fury for these comments over this issue
"From the moment Haye postponed in September, it was obvious this fight wasn't going to happen," he told BBC Sport.
"The public have been duped. Tyson will fight someone else in February. We'll get the show back on the road and we're glad we don't have to do business with these people ever again." -

Also, what does this mean for Tyson Fury now, where does he go now, surely it's too soon for a Klitchsko given that he has not faced a decent heavyweight to date. Chisora has stated he wants a rematch but judging by Fury's twitter, if you can get past the Haye slating (which I think shows how much he wants to taunt Haye into fighting against medical), he wants Wilder, if you ask me that would be great as Fury would be demolished -

Carl. I heard of David Haye's retirement too. He must have picked up the injury in sparring because initially he postponed the fight because he had a cut over his eye.
Tyson hasn't really shown any class towards Haye which is a shame because I think he is a good boxer. It's really silly of him to expect someone to fight when they are not 100% ready. He also just keeps giving it the big one, claiming he wouldn't have postponed the fight if it was him. Yeah right.
He still hasn't fought anyone of good quality yet but fair play to him he was up for fighting Haye so that can't be taken away from him. One never knows. It will be very very hard for David Haye to sit back in retirement. All the best to him. I hope he takes the doctor's advice as his health should come first before boxing glory and money. -

Shame his career has petered out in this way, as I was hoping he'd bring some excitement back to the heavyweight division when he first stepped up. Would have liked to have seen him beat one of Klitchsko's and go out on a high. Not to be though.
Nice bloke though, and with his personailty I'm sure he'll have a good TV career to fall back on. -

For all his bravado when he is out of site by himself Tyson Fury should thank his lucky stars because I personally think that Haye would have demolished him. -

Yep, his logic on how he was a better fighter than Haye was baffling, Fury beat Chisora on points in a complete nonsense of a fight and chisora was despatched by Haye inside 5 with ease??? In Fury's world he beat a peak Chisora, don't think he did somehow. Willder will knock him out -

Some fresh quotes from Haye on his future:
"I'm just hoping I can recover. I'm not really thinking about boxing at all, it's just making sure I've got movement, and have the daily functions in my right arm that I had before. For me that's the most important thing at the moment"
Wanking. -

Haha! Given the amount of birds I know that go damp in the drawers over David Haye I don't think he's be short of offers if he couldn't do that any more ;) -

I personally think that he will be back and retirement just bumps up his purse for the fight when he does eventually accept. I think David Haye would be much more definitive if it was the end. -

i think hell fight again now that World heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has given up his WBC title and says he is unlikely to fight again because he is focusing on politics.
The World Boxing Council have made him a "champion emeritus", which would allow him to directly challenge a new champion if he wants to resume boxing. in doing so haye will show how much of a pussy he is
