RE: David Haye - Retirement

I understand what you mean in terms of: Who was there to fight besides one of the Klitchsko brothers. Even the Chisora fight was a waste for Haye even though it had some excitement and lived up to some of the hype surrounding it. As for Fury, it would have been too early for him but fair play to him he took the challenge and was up for it. Tyson Fury has a great future and good possibility of being a world champion as the Klitchskos aren't going to be around much longer. Vitali has already hung up his gloves for politics. There will be a void for a while which Tyson Fury and even Hughie Fury can fill.
Having said that David Haye Retiring after the Klitchsko fight would have left some question marks as to whether he could have comeback but now these questions have been answered by the doctor and won't be happening. It's just too dangerous and I think he is genuine this time in his statement about quitting. There was no doubt or any hint of reconsidering or possibility of continuing to box.
Anyway fighting Chisora gave David the chance to go out on a winning note even if it wasn't as a world champion. It's better to go out with some fight left and your health than to continue and eventually lose to journeymen or has beens, damaging your health long term in the process, which happened to Muhammad Ali.
I just don't believe he could have gone out that way: as a loser. Good point made though Grizzly about David Haye even considering a comeback in the first place after the Klitchsko fight.
