  Around 100 Coventry fans (surely there's more than that?) held a protest outside the Ricoh Arena yesterday as uncertainty over the issue of where the club will be playing next year continues.
  
  A ground-share with Walsall has been mentioned but with an offer to play rent-free at the Ricoh on the table, the fans would understandably prefer that to happen.
  
  The Sky Blues went in to administration towards the end of last season.

  And they'll playing at Northampton for the next 3 seasons, a 68 mile round trip. This is despite being offered the Ricoh Arena rent-free.

  Feel sorry for the Cov fans. Southampton were targeted by that SISU mob a few years ago. Lucky escape.

  first im born and bred coventry for my sins , the problem that is facing the club is not playing at all next season . You have the ricoh arena suing Northampton for potentially allowing city to play there , for the fans its a 70 mile round trip and no one i know will be attending any games . As for sisu who put the club into administration , it is in fact one of there shell companys that has just taken over . One of the local MPs has lodged a complaint with the FA about this but little looks to be happening . You have the old ground owners (highfield road) who are still coining it in despite selling the old ground to developers which lead to a huge debt . The moral of the story do not let a hedge fund run a football club

  I always thought Highfield Road looked a half decent ground, darth. Was there really any need to knock it down and stretch the finances by building the Ricoh in the first place?
  
  And why is it that travelling to Northampton seems a better option to the board than playing at the Ricoh rent-free? Could it just be a bit of brinksmanship in trying to get even better terms on it? The talk of building a new ground seems to be along the same lines, SISU and the the owners of the Ricoh will know all too well that that stadium is in no way viable if Cov aren't playing there.

  First of all the ricoh is actually being kept afloat by coventry city council . To the tune of several million which has ineffect been written off . The music concerts held there make more money than the football does . The football club owe rent to the council and the alan higgs trust . Not paying the alan higgs trust which is a charitable organisation is in breach of contract . This is how sisu have been handling affairs . Alan higgs trust also owns and runs the site where the academy players trained until they did not pay the rent . Building the ricoh was to do with access for fans and motor vehicles . It is worse in many respsects because of no real long term parking there , there was a idea about extending the rail line to operate a shuttle service but the logistics are misplaced .The ricoh seems to have been constructed so they could let our 6th tesco into coventry .It is even worse on matchday if you are a resident in the north of the city . The area around highfield road is now being reconstructed into student housing and the expansion of coventry university . The ricoh should have been a saving grace but it is now a thorn in our side . What the board decide is going to be interesting . Building a new stadium on the otherside of coventry cannot happen because the hs2 line will intersect that corridor. All of the brown field sites are housing estates sold to the same developers who developed highfield road . If they wish to develop on greenbelt they come into conflict with solihull council . We are in a mess . They could have choosen either hinckley town or nuneaton borough as a ground share , they are within easier reach . I have to be honest i think we will be down in the conference before the start of the season and i am not alone in that thought

  Here is some irony , the fa have requested the current owners of the city to personally stake 1 million pounds to cover the potential move to northampton . The debt owed to the city council is only 1 .4 million apparently . The building of a alternative stadium to the ricoh is supposed to be sited at the coventry bees speedway ground near brandon outside coventry's south west corner . Problem is it is surrounded by a site of special scientific importance . Want to rehome some crested newts anyone ?? . A football pitch surrounded by a speedway track that will be great for the paying fans .

  They just need to stop being dicks and get back to the Ricoh, and the Football League should force them to do so!
