Well hopefully we'll all go along with it, as we have with the lockdown.

And yeah 'mandatory' wouldn't be ideal but until there's a vaccine (which you also weren't wild about) it's the only way we'll be able to start doing shit again. So???

Call me naive but something about the way that this has all been handled and data has been fudged (I have personally had two first hand accounts of deaths that clearly weren't Corona related being marked as such) gives me no reason to trust anything about next steps.

I'm not against a vaccine but if you read what the process should be and how long it would take here https://www.historyofvaccines.org/conten...regulation then I'm certainly not rushing to mess myself up on something churned out so quickly.

When they announce the deaths it's 'deaths where covid was present' rather than 'x amount of people died of coronavirus'.

Would a 'they had coronavirus but that's probably not what killed them' figure be all that helpful?

And they're damned if they do, damned if they don't really. Imagine the cries of foul play if people thought they were massaging the death rate by offloading a chunk of it on to cancer patients.

There is still chat of a vaccine possibly taking years to develop, not a given it'll be ready within a year or whatever. Cross that bridge when we come to it I guess.

So I get a test, I've got bat plague, I get a text saying I should isolate and if I don't they can force me to self isolate or they can lock me up. 

Go to work guys, get paid minimum wage, you can't see anyone you love however you are able to go to subway and lidl. If you get caught with the rona, brother government will heal me via false imprisonment due to the fact that I went to the corner shop to get some milk.

 Doesn't sound dystopian. 

 Aren't you using normal pre-corona life as your jump-off point here though?

I wouldn't want to go from that to the dystopia you've described, but what they're proposing will be an improvement on the current situation for the vast majority of people.  And it'll look a lot more like normal life than where we're at currently.

So you're saying when they are reporting the death toll, a blanket figure we are seeing daily that "corona being present" isn't represented in the total?  Because if it is then I'd say in cases of DOA of heart attack should probably not be factored in, you know for transparency.

Excess deaths in this country since the start of the pandemic is something like 60,000, versus the official corona death toll of 37,000.  So I don't think the wilfully over reporting charge sticks.  More likely that it's not possible to divvy it all up when you're having to present the stats on a daily basis?

And in and of itself 'deaths where covid was present' is a useful stat.

I agree that it will be much better for everyone, I was being hyperbolic. However I think we should be very wary of any power we give to any government that in the future could be used against us, mainly unwanted tracking. 

But this one in particular. Bunch of the very weirdest cunts.
