Five more signings is lot but fair play to Conte for coming in with a plan and willing to roll dice and bring the players he wants into a squad with form for being snakes and rising against managers, will be interested to see how he manages Terry in terms of his number of appearances and influence in the team

Chelsea seems to have its sights on re-signing Romelu Lukaku from however its gonna cost them not as much as Manchester United re-signing Pogba from Juventus but it will cost them.

Everton seem to be holding out for £75m and have rejected a bid from Chelsea already for £57m,

Lukaku isn't worth that much, I understand his skill and raw strength but come on, like also how is Pogba worth over £100 million I don't even know what fantasy football world we're living in. But fair play to Conte, he knows what the team needs

well other clubs know everyone has more money this season anyway because of the television revenue new deal that kicks in this season, so players are going for ridiculous amounts, Lukaku lacks what a elite striker needs which is consistency.

such bullshit, Conte wants a top rate striker so its going for Lukaku for a rumoured 68 mil like what the hell. Why dont we go for someone like griezeman whos far superior to Lukaku especially with that price tag which he isn't even worth half

Different types of player though aren't they.  With talk of Costa going back to Atletico you need someone to lead the line, and even if he stays you could still do with more options up there, particularly if Conte goes 3-5-2.  Not saying Griezmann wouldn't be a good signing (he'd improve any team) but he's more of a Hazard/Oscar/Pedro-type player really. Plus he's literally just signed a new contract.

As for fees, I reckon £68m for Lukaku would almost be decent value in the current market. He's young, has got a pretty impressive scoring record and is only likely to get better.  It'd certainly be a better deal than Higuain at £75m.

And if Pogba's worth £100m, you'd be doing well to see any change out of £150m for Griezmann.

Griezmann would probably be a better fit for Chelsea but provided he is deployed like he was for France, where he had Giroud pretty much open up space for him to score.

@scotty I know the current market is crazy with fees i mean that Higuain transfer is just ridiculous but I still can't fathom Lukakku being worth anywhere north of 40 million. But yeah the prem is money crazy so it wouldn't surprise me if we spend huge to bring him back

Allegedly now, Chelsea are now offering £65m and two players for the services of Romelu Lukaku, the two players being Asmir Begovic and Loic Remy.

Transfer window is insane, so much money being spent
