I’m going for a title win to mark Jose Mourinho’s return to English football. Were Fergie still at United, that would be a more difficult decision to make, but with the top 3 all starting the season with a new man at the helm, Jose’s experience in this country and at this level is the clincher for me.

The arrival of André Schürrle and the return of Lukaku should provide more goals than last season, and ensure less reliance on Torres and Ba. The Rooney saga is a sort of transfer six-pointer in that it’d strengthen Chelsea and weaken United in one fell swoop. If they can pull that off, a tight title win could become a comfortable one.

with mourinho coming back and all the signings from last year settled you would expect them to really challenge for the title, but the problem i see is mourinho only plays one up front and i dont think torres is the same player any more. i cant see him scoring enough goals or performing in the big matches when it matters.

Only thing for them to decide this season will be are they more or less hated than the scouse fuck wits.

I think Lukaku will see a fair bit of game time and Eto'o wouldn't be a bad short-term option. Torres will get one more year I reckon. Don't think Abrahmovic will want to say goodbye to his £50m just yet and maybe Mourinho can get the best out of him? I think he improved last season but was still way off where he should have been.

Chelsea clear to name weakened team against Liverpool

Chelsea are not expected to face punishment from the Premier League if manager Jose Mourinho decides to field a weakened team at Liverpool on Sunday.
League regulations have been relaxed since Blackpool were fined in 2011.
Action is only likely if they select several under-21 players not in their 25-man squad for Premier League games.

Mourinho has hinted he will prioritise Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg with Atletico Madrid, which is goalless after Tuesday's away leg.
With three Premier League matches remaining, Chelsea, who last won the title in 2010, are second, five points behind leaders Liverpool, and only a point clear of Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
