    England V Sri Lanka

England have just finished batting and finished 293-7, a big ol' total for Sri Lanka to chase!

Highest scorers were Jonathan Trott (76), Joe Root (68), and Alastair Cook (59).

England are going to win this trophy.

    I think so too.

    And then The Ashes.

Which wouldn't be too bad a summer, all in all.

Sri Lanka 28-1 after 6 overs.

They'll have to go quicker than that.

    Ah, they did.

    Great effort from Kumar Sangakkara.

Alastair Cook now describing the match against New Zealand as a Quarter Final.

Make's it more interesting if nothing else...

Well before the tournament I had a flutter on Pakistan, that went down the tubes lol... and with todays rain at Cardiff it looks like the West Indies will go out by default because of a 'no-match' being declared!!!! I also had a back up bet with the Windies :-(
The pundits have been criticising the running of the games this morning especially here at Cardiff where they think a 20 over match may be possible but doubt they will do this and let the first team bat on so there is no chance of team b hitting the magic 20 over mark to make it a result, this is just bonkers. I'm just a stones throw away from Cardiff - weather wise - and it's dry now so come on where's the action???
And Sunday's forecast doesn't look good either so that could mean England fall by the wayside also, depending on what happens in tomorrows group A match. Oh well bring on the ashes !!!

Whoever thought it was a good idea to play cricket in the UK (with our weather) wants shooting!

You're right there Scotty, what were they thinking!!! Cricket in the UK, outrageous... I've just seen on the TV that play is due to start at 2.30pm haha, I don't think so as it has just started to pelt down here, although there a little bit of blue sky behind the shower, so we may get a few overs bowled today, but my money's on a no result...

Perhaps they ought to develop a cricket game based on water polo?, even the Briss would like that, teams of semi naked swarthy men frolicking in the pool and scrambling for their balls whilst screaming owzat at each other!!!

I don't think Briss likes anything, but that would at least give him a semi.

So it's a 31 over a side game (hopefully! - still some blue sky at the moment) and SA off to a crackin start at 109-1 off 16 overs.
