Canada just legalised recreational marijuana

Right, that's it. I'm packing up and moving to Canada. The country has just passed a bill to legalise recreational marijuana and is now the second country in the world to do so, after Uruguay.



The Senate voted 52-29 in favour of legalising the drug, which will result in a fully functioning cannabis market within 8-12 weeks. Wowers.Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had hoped to make cannabis legal by 1st July, but it's 13 provinces will need up to 3 months to prepare for sales. Justin Trudeau made it part of his 2015 election campaign to legalise marijuana as a way of keeping it out of the hands of underage users and reduce crime. Trudeau posted on Twitter after the decision.



Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor said she was ecstatic the Senate approved the bill, saying:
 

We're on the cusp of a sensible, responsible and equitable cannabis policy.

The Canadian Government said that adults should be allowed to carry up to 30 grams of cannabis and grow up to four plants, which is pretty hefty. No one is getting through 30 grams of green in a weekend. It also said marijuana should not be sold in the same location as alcohol or tobacco.



So while Canada celebrates it's progressive policy and gleaming future, here we are in the UK banning memes, censoring the internet ,and not allowing people with cancer to take the edge off with a joint. Remind me why the fuck I live here?!

Japan Is Much Slower To Progress On Socio/Political Issues Like The Cannabis Control Act,
Than They Are With Technology And Gaming. Traditions Hold Strong.

If Your Looking To Get High Here In Japan, The Advice Is Simple.
Throw Your Expectations Out Of The Window.

If The Natives Get Caught With Cannabis They Will Get The Customery 5 Days In The Lock Up Prior To Being Bailed.
They Are Named And Are Shamed By The Local Media Coverage, Not Just Social Media.
The Social Stigma Remains Pretty Much Intact Within The Local Community Indefinately.
Once The Natives Have Been Bailed, Court Proceedings Take Place The First Working Day After.
A 5 Year Sentence Is The Norm.

Foriegners After The Customery 5 Days In Lock Up Get Deported Back To Their Respected Countries,
With Full Media Coverage Too.

Named And Shamed Is The Tag They Like To Use. It Works For The Most Part Too.
