Whoever finally takes over will indeed have the proverbial poison chalice, and avoiding relegation will have to be their sole priority, so will Di Matteo take the job knowing they'll probably be in the championship next season? But footie is a funny thing, it might just click for him or Gus Poyet who's also rumoured to be in the frame... Watch this space, as they say...
