  cant really see past vettel tbh however im not to bothered having just added the sky sports channel and got f1 channel for free to my virgin channels for 25 quid per month i cant wait to get back into f1

  Daniel Ricciardo did his chances of replacing Mark Webber at Red Bull next season no harm at all after coming out top in a soaking first practice session at Silverstone this morning.
  
  However the treacherous conditions meant only 11 drivers clocked times.
  
  The second session is coming up this afternoon. Let's hope the weather improves for that and the rest of the weekend too.

  It should interesting especially now that Mark Webber has announced he's leaving as I imagine he's thinking bollocks to any team orders, I'm going for the win and put that jumped up little European shit in his place, even if that means a nudge off the course lol...
  
  It looks like the Mercedes and the Red Bulls will fight it out again. Even though Di Resta was up there, I'm not sure if he can convert that to actual race pace.
  
  I'll guess we'll have to wait and see what the weather is like for qualifying.

  So Rosberg and Hamilton come out top from the Practice 3 session closely followed by the two Red Bull boys, pretty much the same as yesterday, so it looks like these are the guys who are continuing with the pace. Quite funny as Hamilton had said he was unhappy with the balance of his car yesterday, so they must have found something...
  
  A nasty tyre 'deflation' on Sergio Perez's car has got McLaren searching for answers as to why, maybe the telemetry will tell them something as there is pretty much nowt left of that tyre now lol...
  
  Two Lotus's, two Force India's and Alonso and Ricciardo are the others in the top 10. With only a few hours to qualifying these lot must feel reasonably happy with their cars now, but the McLaren's (12th and 18th) must be wondering where it all went wrong!!!

  Well, it's deja-vu with the top 10 going into qualifying 3 being the same make up car wise as P3 ended, but this time Lewis found that little bit extra and pipped Nico to take pole, being the only driver to go under 1min 30, and ensures another Mercedes lockout for the grid..
  Vettel just pips Webber to take the second row and Di Resta has a career best 5th position ahead of Toro Rosso pilot Ricciardo. Sutil, Grosjean, Alonso and Raikkonen complete the top 10, while Mr Unlucky Jenson has to settle for 11th.
  
  Ross Brawn mentioned earlier in an interview that they had made some inroads with their race pace, so although they're fast on a single lap, can they hold off the Red Bull onslaught that they will be sure to face tomorrow. Vettel must be thinking he has a great chance, if he can avoid a collision with his teammate lol...

  "We're not even certain we can stay ahead of the Red Bulls so what's the point of even thinking about [winning]?" he said. "We're just going to put as much positive energy as we can towards it and we'll do the best job we can."
  
  
  
  Sounds like they're putting the excuses up front in case they have a disastrous race lol...
  Watched some of the GP3 race in the early morning and it seemed a glorious day there, so if they want temperature they may well get it.

  Yep, plenty of early excuses. Having the front of the grid to themselves must make them more confident than say, not having the front of the grid though.
  
  Will be keeping an eye on Paul De Resta today. Looking forward to this one.

  lol, I just saw that. Apparently the car was a paltry 1.5Kg under the minimum allowable weight, I dare say someone is now hanging his/her head in shame for miscalculating...
  
  
  You'd think that if Lewis and Nico got their act together they could try to block out the start and try to keep the Bulls behind them, that would mean Nico would have to defer to Lewis though and I suspect that wouldn't go down well!
  Whatever they do, it's sure to be a frenetic first couple of corners... Any guesses on who will hit who?
