British Airways sacks employee because of his man bun

British Airways are in shit after an employee has come forward with claims that the company fired him for having a man bun. To be fair, it should totally be a sackable offence.



26-year-old Sid Ouared, said he had been ‘discriminated against’ after being sacked from his customer service role because of his hairstyle. Sid was working as a Terminal 5 customer services assistant and said nobody mentioned anything about his man bun during his interview for the job. Apparently they waited until the last day of his training to tell him. He said he felt it was unfair that female employees can have have buns, so why can't he?! He sais that staff told him his hair was ‘like a girl’s hair’ and that he had to cut it, put it in dreadlocks or wear a turban, which made him feel pretty awkward.

I got fired from British Airways because I have a man bun, which according to them doesn’t comply with their uniform policy. The fact that they dismissed me for being a man with long hair is ridiculous and sexist. They have discriminated against me.I felt bullied, I felt like an outcast and I did feel violated as well. I just wanted to get on with my role that I was very much enjoying at BA, however I do feel like I was discriminated against just because my hair is ‘like female hair’ but as a male I’m not allowed to have my hair like this.

I know I joke about man muns being ridiculous, but it's pretty shitty on BA's part. This dudes hairstyle doesn't have any baring on the way he does his job. It sounds like BA need to take the stick out of their asses.
