  Do we have any beat em up fans? I am a long term mortal kombat and street fighter die hard. Loving the newest iterations of each.

  i like them, and i'll play them, but they just get really old real fast for me, as there's no story or anything (i know some do try but c'mon, i think everyone can admit it's not a proper storyline) so after a while i just get bored of fighting the same characters.
  
  that being said i did like the new mortal kombat and mk vs dc

  I've not really played much since the old days of Street Fighter 2 Turbo on the Mega Drive! Wasn't the best console either as unless you had the controller with the 6 buttons you had to use the start button to switch between punch and kick. Still managed but didn't make it as playable. I spent a lot of time learning all moves for every character, got there in the end but then the newer ones switched to a heavy combo basis which I'm not a huge fan of.

  i just quite like the news that capcom has signed a partnership deal with hello kitty, they say that a game isn't part of that, but who knows, this time next year capcom vs hello kitty could be on the shelves lol

  I would definately start playing again. Pick Ken as always and finally say Goodbye Kitty.

  The storyline of the new MK wasn't bad. Not shakespeare, but so many gaming plotlines are marred by being obscenely ott, but better than being absent. I just love SF4 as it's a spiritual sequel to 2, and the combo's are just a tactical element, not like the ones in ps2 mk games that ruined it if you wanted to actually beat an opponent who knew the combos.

  I like them, personal favourites are mortal kombat and tekken,
  soul calibur is pretty good as well, really annoying online though.

  well i will say the storyline wasn't bad per say, but i honestly wouldn't of missed it if it wasn't there either

  i've never really minded that storys in beat em ups are usually not very good, because i don't go into them games expecting a good story to be honest.
