Cristiano Ronaldo: Real Madrid criticise Platini's comments
Real Madrid have criticised Uefa president Michel Platini for suggesting their forward Cristiano Ronaldo should not win the Ballon d'Or.
Platini, 59, said the annual prize, which is given to the world's best player, should be awarded to one of Germany's World Cup-winning squad.Platini said he believed that a "world champion" deserved to win the Ballon d'Or, which will be announced on 12 January in Zurich.see just what i said,here here,what ever you think off Michel he never got in his position by luck,he knows what he is on about, oh yes -

i don't think michel platini knows what he's talking about on this one though. germany got their just rewards for being the best team in the world - they got the world cup. the ballon d'or is an individual award for the player who had the best season and no player from the german squad fits that description.
besides, world cup is too heavily favoured when it comes to fifa world player of the year / now ballon d'or. it's basically a few weeks of football vs a whole season. and the highest level of football in the world is not played in the world cup, but in the champs league... -

in your opinion,you are totally wrong about the champs league,the south american version is probably just as good,the world cup is what every player wants to play for and aims for,Michel is in a position to have his opinion,you just see the two leading candidates thrust in your face every week so obviously everyone thinks they are the best, they are well overhyped,anyway they play their football in europe so is europe bigger than the whole world,no i dont think so,so the germans done a whole lot better,did the two leading candidates do any good against the best in the world ,no,so all and all a german in theory should get it allday,but wont cos off all the media attention on the leading two

messi did as well in the world cup as any german player, but no german player did anywhere near as well as messi or ronaldo for their club...
the world cup is played by teams who are nowhere near as used to playing together as they are for their club at the end of a long and gruelling season - so of course the world cup is a lower standard than champions league
and yes europe is bigger than the rest of the world in football terms - that's why everyone strives to play here even the best south american players... who are the truly top south american players who didn't come and play in europe in the last 20 years?
