  I missed the end as I had to go out this morning but it was looking good up until then, so some positives at last coming from the squad (even Cook managed to last 30 balls...), and a nice one handed catch from Jordan to remove an incredulous looking Warner, following Gary Ballance's one hander to remove Finch for 0.
  
  Darren Lehmann was honest enough to say: "We were outplayed the whole game. We certainly didn't bat well enough to chase that down apart from James Faulkner at the end. We got away with it really. I think we were right on the money, with 100 off 16 needed, but Haddin and Maxwell played some silly shots and we were a bit lucky.
  
  Yet it still reads 2-0 to the Aussies.... 11/5 again if you fancy England to take the honours at the SCG, maybe not such a waste of money this time if they've finally got their act together.... Maybe.....

  England lasted the full 50 and finished 243-9. A few decent scores but more urgency needed really.
  
  Then the Aussies got to 244 with 10 overs to spare, and only 3 wickets lost. 71 each for Warner and Marsh the pick of the innings.
  
  Cook's talking about giving up the one-day captaincy. Might be an idea...

  You just don't know what to say really do you? Load of shit just seems too little!!
  
  I thought changing the side around wasn't that bad of an idea but I don't know what Stokes was told to do, it seem like he was told to play himself in and then set up a score instead of get in there my son and bash it around like you've been doing!!
  The commentary team mentioned having Morgan come in at 4 to split up the 'new' pair of Stokes and Balance, but they may be new to Australia, but they ain't new to the 50 over game are they, so their diddling around which gave Doherty (the non spinning spinner) the time to bowl out his overs for next to nowt was a bit embarrassing to say the least...
  
  and even though the sheet says an Australia win by 7 wickets, it's won by 7 wickets in only 40 overs - a shameful result. In fact Australia are so confident now they won't be taking Clarke, Haddin or Warner to Perth for the 4th ODI.
  
  
  So, is Australia really that good now or is England just that pants?!? I guess we'll find out in a short while when the Aussies take a trip to South Africa, if they do well there, then give em a round of applause, if they get beaten senseless, then we should hunt down the English team and do the same to them... In fact, they should take tips from the England Women's team, who at least know to win games down under, WELL DONE LADIES.....

  Here we go again, at the 9th attempt (PM XIs don't count) trying to salvage something from a wreckage of a series. A glimmer of hope, something to take back to old Blighty and build on...
  
  And won't you just listen to those noises! Ravi Bopara's backed Cook to continue as captain, and David Saker reckons reports of a rift between Kevin Pietersen and Andy Flower are all nonsense. A happy camp?
  
  Perhaps, but should they be? If not, a shame, but it makes no difference...
  
  We'll lose regardless. There's probably some team news somewhere but why torture ourselves with the prospect of some debutant or other eventually, and inevitably, disappointing us? They all do, sooner or later.
  
  Play gets underway at 03:20 in the morning. Wake me up when it's over.

  Ha, would you look at that. We won.
  
  A very healthy looking 316-8 for England, which saw Buttler make 71, Stokes 70, Bell 55, Cook 44 and Morgan 33. Decent.
  
  And then Aussies were bowled out for 259 inside 48 overs, so a 57-run win.
  
  Not quite sure what to do with myself really...

  Yep, it was a win, and a good win too... Right from the off they had the mentality to score runs and make it happen, although they shouldn't let it go to their heads...
  
  So at least they now seem to have the backbone of their one day squad coming along nicely, in the batting department at least.
  
  Still 1/2 for the Aussies to take the 5th ODI though, and I think they'll bounce back hard and take the series 4-1.

  Another slightly different looking Australian side, and Michael Clarke wins the toss and says, we'll bat first... The stats were not on his side suggesting the side batting second were usually in the better position...
  
  and when Australia made an awful start and just couldn't seem to score at all making just 217-9 from their 50 overs, it seemed like he had made a mistake...
  
  But the pitch (or I hope it was the pitch anyway) had other ideas and when England came out to bat they found it equally hard to score, although they put themselves in a brilliant position after 35 overs, needing just 70 runs from 90 balls, but they just couldn't make it happen, getting themselves bowled out for 212 with 2 balls to spare and still 5 runs shy of the target...
  
  So, they do indeed lose the ODI series 4-1, can they at least get some pride back in the T20's???

  1st ODI, Melbourne - lost by six wickets
  
  2nd ODI, Brisbane - lost by one wicket
  
  3rd ODI, Sydney - lost by seven wickets
  
  4th ODI, Perth - won by 57 runs
  
  5th ODI, Adelaide - lost by five runs

  So the tour down under is almost at an end, it's currently 9-1 to the Aussies with 3 bash em up T20's to go...
  
  and it appears that captain Alastair Cook will be rested for the West Indies tour, (although he now says he most definitely wants to remain on as Captain, and his previous remarks was just the result of having a bad day... or a bad series more like...) with Stuart Broad most likely taking over the helm for that.... It's being played as extra warm up for the upcoming T20 in Bangladesh... Cook Rested for West Indies Tour
  I don't know about a rest, some batting practice wouldn't go amiss!!!
  
  
  Also Graeme Swann has raised his head again saying it was his shit bowling that made him quit Graeme Swann's Bowling Was 'Awful', or 'awful' as he put it... Shit mate, come on be honest... Don't know if that's the full story as he has been such a quality spinner, so something's up in his world, still best out of it if he feels this way...
  
  The First T20 is on Wednesday at Hobart, at a decent time of 8.35am, although I think the Women are playing first, so if you want to see an England team win, best you watch them...
