RE: AUSTRALIA vs ENGLAND ODI & T20 Series 2014

A new Captain for the T20's in Stuart Broad, but that doesn't affect the outcome a it's now played 1,lost 1 for the bash 'em up style series...
Australia beat England in Hobart
George Bailey also had something to make up for, as the only time he Captained in the ODI series, the Aussies lost! So when he won the toss, he declared, we'll bat first, and bat they did, swooshing the ball over the small boundaries to make 213-4 from their 20 overs, with Cameron White hitting 75 from 43 balls and Aaron Finch ably accompanying him with 52 from 31 balls.
But it was England's poor fielding again which allowed them to get this total, 'you don't win matches by dropping catches' and other general poor fielding.
So it was then England's turn to bat and they brought in the big guns who have been firing so well in the Big Bash League in the form of Alex Hales, Luke Wright and Michael Lumb but these boys fell quickly with only Hales managing 22 to make it 51-4 when Morgan was also out for only 4!!!!
Buttler and Root followed soon after to make it 100-6 and by then it was effectively over... However Ravi Bopara had other ideas, he seemed to be the only English player who could clear the boundary ropes, and he made his 50 in record time of only 23 balls, but it was a genuine case of too little too late as they could only make 200-9 and probably lucky to have batted out the full 20 overs....
So both good and bad then, it showed they could have won this game, but let it slip away..
Onto Melbourne for the 2nd chance on Friday morning...
But on another note, the ladies who played earlier in the day, did win their match with 13 balls to spare and retain their Ashes with an unassailable 10-4 point lead with only 2 T20's remaining... Yay, an England success..... -

The full 20 overs for England, but just 130 runs, and 9 wickets lost.
Sluggish stuff, and Buttler with just 22 was our highest run scorer. But even that took 27 balls.
So it was all set up for the Aussies to have a nice stroll, and they did just that. Target reached inside 15 overs. 58 not out for White, 60 not out for Bailey and altogether 131-2 from 14.5. Easy.
So that's 3 series' out of 3 to Australia. They take an unassailable 2-0 lead in to the final T20 game this Sunday, which thankfully is also the last match of the tour.
Not been a classic has it? -

I think Andy Flower may have just quit out of total shame more than anything else, just how abysmal can this team get, and it's a batting team that ain't short of big hitters!!!
The wicket wasn't that scary and yet they tried to send the ball into orbit and ended up getting themselves out, albeit with some good fielding..
You're right there Scotty, definitely not a classic, and not even close... only one more game before the misery ends.... -

An 84-run win for Australia in the final match of the tour.
Set an achievable target of 196 by the Aussies, England slumped to 111 all out inside 18 overs. Eoin Morgan's 34 off 20 balls the only the thing even approaching a bright spot.
So that's 1 win and 12 defeats from 13. Worst winter ever? -

I think England would have wanted to see the end of this tour. England were dissapointing from beginning to end. Their were slight imporvement but with the bowling of jhonson it made it hard for England. Jhonson madean massive improvement has his figureswent back to hisbest when he first startedcricket.
