Atari just announced their first new console in 24 years!

Here's hoping it fares better than that disastrous effort, the 1993 Atari Jaguar, which pretty much wiped the company out.
They should be ok. Rather than try and muscle in on the Playstation/xbox action, the Ataribox looks to be aimed squarely at the retro market and therefore represents a far less expensive gamble. Inspired by the classic 2600 console, it'll most likely come pre-loaded with some old favourites in addition to its more modern SD card and USB ports.

the atari coming out with a new console after 24 years is crazy , the console looks better than the ps4 and xbox if u ask me, i wont be getting it but im good with xb1 and ps4 but, im sure alot of people will buy it -

This came as a surprise, i honestly thought Atari went under years ago. Looks like a fun console, and a wise move to not try and step into the market to compete with PS4 and Xbox, would just get swallowed up by the competition. I can see myself getting one of these, provided it's an affordable price. -

A console is only as good as it's games and if they're going retro then it's going to be hard to beet that mini pre-loaded super nes that's coming out. Think Atari might have missed the bus this time but lets see what they bring out on it. Q bert can do one. -

Hahaha E.T. Was Street Racer on Atari as well as SNES. Used to love that game a real competitior to the old snes Mario Kart IMO. -

Hahaha E.T. Was Street Racer on Atari as well as SNES. Used to love that game a real competitior to the old snes Mario Kart IMO.
Street Racer was "one of the nine Atari 2600 launch titles" ( or at least it was according to Wikipedia ) -

street racer was a good game back in the day and i think it deserves a remake, i remember i used to play as the bald guy all the time lol, and also f zero was a good game from back then
