  Well it was interesting how Clarke suddenly piped up saying he knew the England starting XI for Brisbane, I view that as a pure and simple tactic of diverting discussion from his squad, mark my words he is a nervous captain, I don't think he can survive two ashes defeats with his captaincy

  Our batting overnight won't have done his nerves much good either.
  
  Alastair Cook made 81, Jonathan Trott 83 and Kevin Pietersen 57 as England finished the second day of the final warm-up match on 302-5.
  
  The Invitational XI suffered a tail-end collapse at the start of the day, losing their final five wickets for just 33 runs. All about Finn (5-103) and Broad (4-37) in the bowling attack.
  
  7 days to go and we're looking in good shape!

  Can't have Finn in the test side next week, far too expensive to put him against an attacking Australian opening batting line up, yes he could take wickets but he could also go for a lot of runs, Tremlett for me.

  Another positive day for England, with Joe Root adding an impressive 75 as we were bowled out for 418, a 114 run first innings lead over the Invitational XI.
  
  Good start for the bowlers too, the Aussies ended the day 153-4 with Graeme Swann, Stuart Broad, Steven Finn and Boyd Rankin taking a wicket each.
  
  Looking like a win.

  Very convincing win and much needed really, still not convinced about the third bowler issue, rankin has probably been the best in terms of taking wickets and not being smacked about a lot, but Tremlett has positive experiences of tests in oz, tough call

  Also forgot to add my thoughts on prior's fitness, it's looking very positive for him to be fit for Thursday morning, he's a key component in the England lineup so fingers crossed he is passed fit

  So what are people's predictions for this Ashes series?
  
  I really don't know how it's going to pan out, but I'm expecting it to be a lot closer this time around. I think whoever gets off to a good start and wins the first test will go on to win the series. Heart is saying 3-2 England but head says 3-2 Aussies, so I'll go in between and say 2-2 with England reteaining the Ashes.

  I think England will win the series 3-0 again, frankly Australia's record at Brisbane is impressive but I think England can avoid defeat in this test.
  
  I have seen nothing to suggest that this Australian side is any stronger than it was in the summer and lets be honest, our big batsmen, Cook, Trott & KP didn't consistently perform this summer and we still won with ease in terms of the scoreline

  2-1 or 3-1 to England for me, but even if there's only one test in it, I don't think we'll ever be in any danger of looking like losing the series...
