  In: Yaya Sanogo (Auxerre, Free).
  
  Out: Vito Mannone (Sunderland, £1.5m), Andre Santos (Flamengo, Undisclosed), Andrei Arshavin (Zenit St Petersburg, Free), Denilson (Sao Paulo, Free), Sébastien Squillaci (Bastia, Free), Johan Djourou (Hamburg, Loan)
  
  Prediction: 5th
  
  The Gunners have done well to move on some of the deadwood from their squad this summer, but the arrival of just Yaya Sanogo on a free is less impressive, and doesn’t suggest they’re ready to challenge for 4th, let alone the title.
  
  With money seemingly there to be spent, and the other members of the top 4 all having changed manager, this season should be Arsenal’s best chance of challenging for quite a few years. But with Gonzalo Higuain choosing Napoli over north London, Luis Suarez looks the only viable option remaining. Actually getting the deal done will be easier said than done though, and that’s before question marks over his temperament and attitude are even taken in to consideration.
  
  Despite all the talk of late, Arsene Wenger doesn’t like spending big, maybe doesn’t even know how to. I can see another frustrating season on the horizon.

  i think arsenal will be closer to the top this year because they have kept hold of their best players and got rid of a lot of players that weren't good enough. i still cant see them challenging for the title though unless they bring in some real quality thats missing, but im not sure if they can get the deals done.

  I can't help but think the reason no-one has come in for their better players is because none of them are good enough. Obviously there's talent there, but nothing on the level of Fabregas or Van Persie.
  
  Reinforcements definitely needed, and I agree that they might not arrive. Hence the 5th prediction.

  yeah i would agree with that, they dont really have any world class players any more, just some very good ones and some with lots of potential. they are always gonna finish at leat fifth, just depends how well spurs do in the battle for fourth place.

  I think as things stand, Spurs have the much better squad. But if bale goes and Arsenal sign a couple, things could look different.

  yeah i agree with you on that. going forward bale and soldado will get plenty of goals, they have a solid defence and their midfield looks really strong and more all around strength and depth.

  I think Bale's probably played his last game for Spurs, but even without him they're looking a lot stringer than Arsenal. Shocking display from them on Saturday.

  i love arsenal, football would so boring with them to take the piss out off. looks like it will be the same as last year slow start and only start to play when they have no chance of winning silverware.
