Seven titles on the spin doesn't exactly scream 'healthy competition', but it's hardly their fault Rangers turned out to be naughty tax spastics.
And what difference does it make if there's one horse in the race or two? Neither scenario's giving you much in the way of suspense or excitement, is it?
Anyway, here are the views of some people who are no doubt better qualified to talk about this than I am.
See, all's not lost. And if you want my prediction; Celtic will get a bit shitter once Brendan Rodgers leaves, and Rangers will have caught up enough by then to make things at least halfway interesting. Just give it another year or two. -

Yes. Just been talking with a die hard Celtic fan who says they will actually get worse, and not even win another CL group match until they get some week in, week out opposition back home. He, and other Celtic fans I know said relegating Rangers three divisions has back fired as it means Celtic can win without being any good. They cannot get any decent sponsorship money and won't until the whole SPL offers a decent product. No wonder the Scotland team are dire. -

Do you know how the TV money gets divvied out up there John? Is it a fairly even split like in England? Or do Celtic make like Barca or Real Madrid and keep the majority for themselves?
The Premier League has absolutely got the right idea on this. Much as it must be tempting for the big clubs to demand a bigger slice, a league's only as strong as its weakest member, isn't it? And they all win in the end. -

AFAIK Celtic, Rangers and Aberdeen get most of the money. But in a league where one team can get over 55000 at a home game and less than 20 miles down the road Kilmarnock and Hamilton are pulling in less than 2000 there is sweet fa compared to even one PL team. The SPL is like a worse version of Portugal but at least they have four big clubs who attract bigger corporate sponsorship. And now for a Tunnock's Waifer...food of the gods.. -

Although I'm a Scottish football fan, I find the current situation fucking hilairious.
The SPFL/Premiership or whatever they're calling themselves this week saw a cheap and easy oportunity to break the strangle hold the old firm had on trophies and it came back to bite them all on the arse. It didn't even take years, the first season after they kicked Rangers out, every "Top flight" club had an attendance drop.
All they ended up was creating a system where the one club with money has been able to dominate unchallenged and they don't even have to be good to do so. They're slightly less shit than all the rest.
Probably the funniest part is that the powers that be in Scottish football are still spouting the "All is good", "It's a great time for Scottish football" lines, even though most of the fans know and admit that it's awful right now.
Scottish football used to produce some of the greatest players in the world. Now it's just producing comedy headlines and easy wins for European and international games. -

Rangers punishment was too harsh. Celtic fans use the word cheating. In my books, as a player of several sports, that means breaking the rules on the pitch. Not financial issues. I am seriously looking forward to when Celtic's epic sexual abuse cases hit the front pages and see what punishment is dolled out, if any by the SFA (Scottish Fenian Association). If they deliberately covered up, and paid off victims, as is the norm with all Catholic organisations then the penalty should be just as harsh. Money is money. Someone being sexually assaulted and the perpetrator being allowed to continue under the auspice of the club's directors then a long jail sentence is the least they can expect. The victims must be allowed justice.
