Alcoholic drinks

Have looked high and low but i couldnt find another thread about peoples favourite alcoholic drinks so, though i would start one. What does everone like to drink? If cocktails, does anyone have any cocktail recipes they would like to share. Im mostly a rum drinker myself but i do enjoy cocktails, shots and the occassional Guiness.

Cider drinker myself but not all fairy like with half a pint of ice to keep it cool, As far as cocktails go i will give anything a go except for when you see the ones with egg whites or onions, that is just not right!

As topics go, this topic is about as important as it gets (i am a bit of an ocassional pisshead though lol). Egg whites and onions, they dont do anything for me either. Im not a massive fan of shots, especially the cheap ones (like apple sours or aftershock...cant stand that shit). If im going to have a shot i will either be a shot of Disaronno in a glass of orange (otherwise known as a Gladiator i believe) or a shot of Absinthe straight up. With the Absinthe, the stronger the better, ideally a brand from abroad not the 40 or so percent max stuff you usually get over here. Had a couple of shots of eighty percent absinthe the other day (thats more like it).

More of a morgans spiced man myself but like a black or white russian now and then. Black russian (tia maria vodka and coke) white (same alcohol but with cream and milk). Quite like stiffy's shots but used with lemonade and ice.

Gotta say im not fammiliar with stiffys shots. Start the night on a shot of absinthe. No sugar, not watered down, just a straight up shot. Gets easier after doing it several times but to start with its just a sudden, powerful shock to the stomach. I used to like Morgans spiced until one night on holiday i cleared a litre of it and wound up the walking unconsious and more than a little ill afterwards. I drink Bacardi occasionally, but, rum wise, its all about the Havan Club for me. 3, 5 and especially 7 year. Love the stuff. A nice Cuba Libre..yum. I have tried Havana Maestro and Reserva a few times. Have yet to try Havana Maximo though. That retails at arround £1,300 a bottle. Grab a bottle of that when i win big on the lottery me thinks.

Hey Richard180. Yet another fan of the white russian. I have never had a black russian. To be honest it doesnt appeal. The white russian is a different story. I dont like mine too stodgy but i do put a spin on the classic recipe that really works. Take the shaker with ice, using a large measure of vodka, followed by a large measure of Kahlua, followed by a large measure of Frangelico hazelnut liquer and capped off, in my case, with skimmed milk. Shaken and poured over ice. Lovely.

Heres another of my favourite drinks, the dune bug cocktail (or is it june bug..i forget). Prep it by taking a glass and part filling it with ice (preferably smaller fragments). Take a shaker, chuck in some ice and add a large measure of Malibu, a large measure of banana liquer, a large measure of Midori melon liquer and, assuming the large measures are 50ml, 75 - 80 ml of pineapple juice. Shake it up good and hey presto, one damned moreish alcoholic fruit cocktail. If too strong just experiment with the measures.

Heres another of my favourite cocktails that i prep at home, the blue lagoon. Easy enough to do. Take a glass and ice, chuck in vodka to taste, blue curacao to taste and add lemonade. Stir it up and you are good to go. Very moreish plus it goes and awesome blue colour.
