A moment's silence please...
...to remember those who lost their lives in the Great London Beer Flood. Yesterday was the 199th anniversary of the tragedy that cost 7 people their lives.
Basically, a 610,000 litre vat of beer ruptured at the Meuz & Company Brewery on Tottenham Court Road, this caused a domino effect, and the long and short of it is that nearly 1.5m litres of beer spilled out on to the streets of London. Still, I could think of worse ways to go. |
