1963 Ferrari 250 GTO Sells For $52m
$52m. That makes it the most expensive car ever.
It was a private sale so details are sketchy. We know its a red one though, so chances are it looks something like this: In fact, Ferrari only ever made 39 of them so there's a fair chance that's the one. Anyone who considered, but didn't shell out $52m on the one that was up for sale last year is probably kicking themselves right now.
The price has just gone up to $64m, or €46.7m. This one is from 1962, so pretty early in the run of 39. That might go some way towards the $12m hike but it's mostly just a booming market. And filth to look at also. Check out the listing. It is sort of in German, mind.
