Jaguar unveil the electric I-Pace

An electric Jaguar...

Sort of like a McDonald's salad, isn't it?  A necessary token gesture, but completely at odds with what the brand is actually for.  Any more than 10 miles to the gallon and it's not a real Jag.  True story.

All this progress is not without its upsides though.  The I-Pace's electric motors generate a healthy 395 hp and will get you from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds.  But back to the negatives; it's a compact SUV and aside from the wheels, wouldn't look out of place on Kia or Hyundai forecourt.

You'll be paying more than £60k for the privilege too, and that's just for the base model.  Some pics...
