It’s always pretty humiliating when you drop a fart in polite company, especially if it smells like something crawled up your asshole and died. But now there’s a nifty way to save yourself the embarrassment and fart into these chair cushions instead.
This new product apparently has the ability to stop your farts from stinking because it has the ability to filter the fart particles out of the air. I’m not sure how true this is - It sounds like a product the losing team would come up with on The Apprentice. The company behind the cushion is called Shreddies and here’s what they had to to say:
Quote:Shreddies flatulence filtering garments feature an activated carbon back panel that absorbs all flatulence odours. Due to its highly porous nature, the odour vapours become trapped and neutralised by the cloth, which is then reactivated by simply washing the garment.
Previous research published in The American Journal of Gastroenterology found activated carbon underwear to be the most effective method of removing flatulence odours.
The garments have gone through rigorous testing, and findings from research by De Montfort University were presented at the 86th Textile Institute World Conference; the fabric ‘was found to remove sulphide and ethyl mercaptan so effectively that it can filter odours 200 times the strength of the average flatus emission’.
The fabric remains effective for the life of the garment (2 – 3 years) providing the care instructions are followed correctly. The Shreddies motto is ‘fart with confidence’ and our garments ensure just that!
I think I’d rather fart into my jeans and just let the whole room take a whiff rather than splashing out 28 quid on a cushion. It sounds like they've created an unnecessary product for a market that doesn’t exist. Also, what if you need to fart when you’re standing up or making a cuppa?! Do you say to your guest ‘excuse me, I must sit down for 3.2 seconds whilst I guff into my pillow’. I can’t see it taking off but it might make a good novelty Christmas pressie for my dad. -

This is the kind of joke present I might buy someone for their birthday or for Christmas if they are a well known farter but I'm not spending that kind of money on a joke. £5 maximum for joke presents, if you ask me.
