Well, as its appeared for download have decided to give X Me : Apocalypse a look (ok, it was no real hardship on my part, after all it couldnt be that bad)? Have gotta say i didnt hate hate the film, there were enough redeeming qualities to see the film through but thats not to say the film is not without its faults. Despijt all my early critscism of Apocalypse given the prom images that were released he doesnt look quite as like a Poeer Rangers villian as i first expected (still nowhere near as menacing looking as earlier versions though). As for the film itself while entertaining, loud andwith a fair spattering of action i still found it inferior to First Class but more or less on par with Dys of Future Past. This by on large, is down to the new recruits who to be frank are no where near as good as their counterparts from the original trilogy. Efects alone do not make a performance after all and Sansa..sorry, Jean in this for example is a pale imitation of Famke Jansen. For me 2 scenes saved the film..one featuring Quicksilver being the hero (to say more would spoil but its epic) and a scene involving an old freind (will have to wait to see that for yourselves). Enjoyable enough but with a 'Meh' plot, Magneto not being on par with when we first saw him in 'First Class' and a poor bunch of newbies i could no happily x amount of years without feeling the need to urgently watch this again.
