Rollerball (2002).

Why on Earth would anyone attempt to make a new version of easily one of the greatest movies out there. It's so bad, I didn't manage to get more than a few minutes into it before switching channels to watch something, anything better.
It's so bad, I think it has only ever been shown once on British TV and Channel 4/Film 4 really do show some complete shit.

Yh total recall is one of the worst remakes I have ever seen I really don't understand why they even tried to make a remake of it cause it was already I great film that didn't need an update at all tho if they did jus update it it prob wouldn't have been has bad as what they did do with the remake gahhh I wish they would stop remaking good films and jus think of something new to make

I will give u that the departed in a good remake but I still love the original ones as well so there are still a few that do make a good attempt and come through in the end, but the bad ones are jus to great in number like tmnt can't hold up to the old ones and will smiths film with his son was the worst film I've seen I don't recall the name it's the one on some other planet, and fantastic 4 that whole film felt like it was meant to be jus the opening for the film not the entire film

The film you're after is "After Earth" from 2013. I do agree with you, that film is terrible. His son just can't act apart from looking like a bored teenager

Total Recall and Robocop were my two worst remakes ever! Nothing more to add!

Also up there, the remake of Clash Of The Titans, where the acting was so bad, it made the original Crossroads cast worthy of a National Television Award instantly! And, The Karate Kid. The remake was awful IMHO, not even close to the quality of the original, and even the casting of Jackie Chan failed to make it any better.

The Man From U. N. C. L. E. and Planet Of The Apes also worthy of a mention.

With ya as far as the man from uncle movie and Total Recall, thelizard69. Somehow i sat through the whole of the Recall remake (sheer curiosity, telling mysellf it would improve..yeah right). However i couldnt stomach more than half hour or so of Uncle. That shit had to go. I would disagree with ya bout Planet of th apes although are you reffering to the entirely watchable recent reboot or the god awful Tim Burton effort starring Mark Wahlburg?

Oh, gymaddict69, I'm referring to the 2001 remake of Planet Of The Apes, with Mark Wahlberg, Helena Bonham Carter, among others.

Not seen the latest reboot. However, the one from 15 years ago was awful!

Would quite happily watch the 1968 original again!

To this day i have never seen any of the original films (didnt they star Charlton Heston or am i thinking of something else). That was definattly a miss step by Tim Burton with that turkey. Would recommend you give the 2 recent planet of the apes films a look. In my opinion the first of the new films is superior to its sequel (no great suprise there lol).

The Total Recall remake was absolutely awful, actually sat & watched the whole damn film, was so different to the original, Colin Farrell as well, wasn't great

Never seen The Man From U.N.C.L.E, original or remake, but given how shocking Henry Cavill was in Man of Steel, I highly doubt i'll be checking it out

One remake I did actually enjoy watching is Dredd, plot was so different to the original, but still, great action scenes, really liked the film

Dredd was ok tho I never really felt like that films plot went anywhere, jus felt like oh here's a dredd in a building then non stop battle

And yh igree with you guys about the karate kid that kid really can't act it was no where near anything as good as the original God even the one with the girl instead of Daniel was better than it, Jackie chan did Wat he could to save it but it was a lost cause from the start
