Home advantage probably makes them a better bet than the not-much-longer Argentina but Chile caused them plenty of problems in the second round. Colombia could well do the same on Friday but it's hard to argue against them being favourites.
Argentina 7/2
A stuttering performance against Switzerland in the last round but Belgium haven't exactly been flying either. They should have enough about them to squeeze through the quarters but a likely semi against the Dutch looks a tough one. It's all about Messi.
Germany 4/1
Another side that made hard work of getting through the first knock-out but how many times have a not brilliant looking Germany found themselves in a final of a major tournament? Could be a decent outside(ish) bet.
Holland 9/2
As well as Costa Rica have played this summer you'd have to say the Dutch have got the pick of the quarter final draw. And as the old saying goes, once you reach the semis anything can happen. Might be worth a couple of quid.
France 8/1
Getting past Germany isn't beyond them but even if they did it'd most likely be Brazil in the semis. Tough old route to the final that, never mind the trophy itself.
Colombia 12/1
Of all the bastard draws... Team of the tournament in many ways but even at 12/1 it looks a gamble from here. Quid?
Belgium 12/1
Just don't look good enough really.
Costa Rica 40/1
If they did lift the trophy, that'd make England the only side in the tournament to to take anything off them. Wouldn't seem like such a disaster then, would it?
